Sorry about the code, don't know how to do a shorter version!
Starting from Tremadog where we were based, a loop back to there was our Saturday ride.

Chickenstrip's the man to ask, as he knows the rounds around Wales pretty well to say the least.
I'll try and remember a few that I can though.
The A498 from our campsite in Tremadog up northwards and onto the A4086 to Pen-y-Pass and beyond had some great roads and views.
We also went through Betws-y-Coed over to Horseshoe Pass (A542). Although, I'm not too sure of the exact roads we took (This may have been the day we decided to unintentionally take two different routes between us to get there)
Sorry that I can't be of more help but, the country's all new to me.
What I will say though is that I can't remember a single bad road around there at all, both in condition and picturesque scenery. So basically, just head to Snowdonia and ride around, you can't go far wrong.
Oh, and bring waterproofs...good waterproofs too, just in case.

No, I don't recall reading about him. Yet I'm sure somewhere I've got a history of Eiger ascents. I'll have to have a dig around and see if I can find it. That's a hell of a challenging climb from what I've read; rock fall, avalanche and Foehn winds seem to be the rule. Even harder for the pioneers. All the tales of people freezing on the end of a rope, falling to their deaths etc. The Hinterstoisser Traverse, White Spider, Rotes Fluh - stuff of legend! ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Yeah, I've read the Harrer one. There was a funny short story in Jon Krakauer's book "Eiger Dreams", about him and a friend attempting it. Their tent got blown away in the Foehn and strewn across a railway track among other things A very entertaining read! Needless to say, they didn't get far.
Oh, and his mate was AWOL from the U.S. army to do the climb ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Never thought to post a heads up in the Wales section Everyones keen to do another next year sometime though so we should be able to arrange something you can come along on next time
I think people are interested in an extra couple of nights though, particularly with the travelling there and back being long distance for a lot of the group it didn't give us as much time as we'd of liked to have exploring the area. |

Will probably aim to do it around the same time again next year so it doesn't clash with the Europe trip and stuff during June/July times. A few that went on the recent Europe trip were interested in some Wales stuff too so there should be a bigger group coming along next time hopefully |
