Held at the Haynes Motor Museum, Sparkford (nr. Yeovil).

I was a little disappointed at the number of bikes actually on display, doubly so as I had a look through the photos from last year's the other day; seems to me there wasn't much difference. Still, it was nice to go and see the bikes in the flesh, and a look round the museum cars all included in the price. So yes, I'd recommend it one time anyway, but would like to see a bit more if I'm to go again next year.

So, starting with a walk around the bike parking area; usually something interesting to be found, and here's what caught my attention:

These Zs all left together, hammering it up the road past the museum fence; a lovely sight and sound! :

Think this has to be the one I sometimes see at H'S café, Dorchester:

Couple of nice air cooled RDs:

Laughing :

Yellow and speed blocks - I'm tellin ya, that's gotta be a real quick one! Laughing :

More strokers get stuffed into the hay bales:

So that was outside the museum. Inside to follow shortly.

So, for £13.50, these were what you got inside the museum:

Back in the day, I always wanted to build one of these. Never had the money, more's the pity. Z650 with GPz750 turbo engine:

Turbo heaven; I may have left the floor a bit sticky around these Laughing :

Still got a soft spot for em:

2 beautifully shiny Kettles were on display:

Canadian 400, 400 and 250:

https://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b550/nicknicklxs/DSCF5904_zps5fffb2a8.jpg

Lost count of the cylinders at about 36 I think Laughing :

GSXR endurance racer:

https://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b550/nicknicklxs/DSCF5944_zps62aa2bf7.jpg

And those were the highlights for me. Also had a look around the cars, which made it more worthwhile.

I think I'll have to try to make the Stafford show in October, as I reckon that's a bigger one, but not a bad little outing Smile

Some lovely old school metal there! Thumbs Up

I like my Kettle's, but the Moto Mental Martin is the stand out and most crazy bike there for me! Even if CBX's don't look anywhere near as cool as Z1300's! Laughing

There was a lot not represented; no GS/GSXs, no early Honda 4s, no Honda V4s, not much in the way of Yam XS range etc. And yep, no Z1300! I suppose I thought it would be a bigger show, but it's only in it's second year, so maybe, given time...

Think I'll have to do Stafford though, as I'm led to believe that's the big one for Jap classics.

I'm hoping some fools on a small stand will agree the display my KMX at the October show, before I stop treating it like an ornament.

Might be vanning it up there though, so potential might exist for a load of old jap scrap to follow me home! Laughing
