Bought this to play about with over winter, first real project so bit of a learning curve, being chinese doesnt help though as nothings likely to fit:

I snapped the front caliper in two after an hours playing on it, seems it was made of cheese.

Its now stripped and cleaned, de chavved and is in a box as parts, thinking of making a mini cafe racer out of it since the seats an off the shelf part.

warn u now progress wont be epic or morish but just thought id do a write up of progress on here.

engine is a 140 lifan currently running 17/30 sprockets, thinking of going for 18/24 though.

not really looked into where to go with it other than cafe racer theme, just starting from powder coating certain stuff and frame black etc and going from there.

new bearings where needed, will keep the wheels, swing arm, rear drum set up, would like to upgrade to a branded front caliper though. Black tank, two new side panels, rack wont be going back on.

Always wanted a monkey they look so much fun.

Will watch this with interest. Chinese stuff is normally simple to work on, the engines are copies of something and the rest is basic as they could do. Worst parts are normally the wiring looms but I'm guessing on a little monkey it won't be hard to make one.

It int tho, I think some chavs had it to do is motorcycle maintenance nvq level 1 course in the college of mums kitchen as the bodgery I found whilst stripping it beats paddys efforts Very Happy

Anyway like said the caliper snapped in to two pieces under a bit of heavy braking, luckily there was nothing in front of me or that wouldnt of ended well, the back brake was useless at the time. So want to upgrade this, have seen brembo 4 pots fitted but havent fully looked into the setup yet.

All the ghastly stickers are gone and are to those indicators, might keep them off. in the second picture, in the area between below the right hand battery cable tie, and the chain, you will see a 1" square piece of box section, this was welded on to the frame with what can only be described as an early learning centre my first welder set. Fuck knows why it was there as the mudgaurd was bolted on at the right place at the bottom, and after removing said offending artical and grinding off the "weld" the frame looks to be fine, i.e. not cracked.

Missus passed her mod 2 today so thats one less excuse not to get some work done on this crazy little thing Smile
