Seeing people having a great time at Uni, Every post on social media is about people at Uni who are having a great time, my snapchat is full of people on nights out and everyone seems to be having a great time.
I'm not sure if I should go next year, what puts me off is the debt and that in the IT sector experience is valued over qualifications.

Social media is mostly lies. Do not use it as a basis or consideration in your decision.
However it is freshers week, meeting a lot of new people, plenty of drinking and generally having fun.

I enjoyed uni, but given the debt you get into nowadays I wouldn't be going because it looked like fun. I'd be going to get a 2:1 or a 1st in a degree that employers saw as adding value.

Ratchet straps to squish it down.

Unfortunately it's height that's the issue, I could rip the wheels off but that'd ruin a perfectly good suitcase. Maybe I'll just practice my best Puss in boots impression instead lol

Laughing An IT degree gets you a job in Tesco's. Actually I tell a lie, one of my friends now teaches IT at our old school with his, how brilliant does that sound.

'Social media' is for proles and for advertising.

WRT degree - Computer Science from a decent university is likely worth it. Some sort of wonky applied Java course from a middle/low tier, probably not.

In my experience, no-one cares about 'qualifications' as such, they care about the social status and implied intelligence attached to a particular institution.

Nah, applying to Tesco gets you a job in Tesco. Don't drink and job.

Yesterday, after filling up, I was paying at the pump rather than going in – and got yelled at over a speaker. Shocked I knew you had to take lid off if you go in, but didn’t realise you couldn’t stay at pump wearing it. Was rather embarrassing.
Also, I definitely need to diet. “Sir! Remove your helmet please.”
Though I did get a “Oh! Sorry ma’am. And thank you.”
Then got flustered and stalled, just to make it extra fun. Rolling Eyes

More and more petrol stations are now doing 'Pay at Pump' dispensing and saves messing around queueing (unless you want to do your weekly shop and leave your vehicle on the pump for 30 minutes like some people do).

But if having to remove ones helmet while filling up your bike tank after prepaying via card at the pump, what happens when the garage itself is closed and there is no one to tell you to remove your lid.So why should it matter during the day? Rolling Eyes

I could understand it, I guess, if it’s just a standard policy. But they’d already let me pay and fill up wearing it.
It was only my 3rd ever time of using a petrol pump and my first time at pre pay. I felt a bit weird and self-conscious anyway, without being shouted at. Oh well. I know for next time. Hopefully fill 4 will be the first time I don’t dribble fuel everywhere! Embarassed

Just been watching two of those great big grab lorries trying to tackle the pikey waste in the park.
Both were pretty much full and it looked as if they were only halfway through it all.
I wonder how much it all cost.
Fuck all will happen to the pikeys of course but I can be fined up to a grand if I decide not to dispose of my dog's shit in the proper way. Folded arms

My today's job interview. It all went well, until they gave me a law related question that I just could not answer. I mean, I knew the answer, but I just couldn't remember at the spot. Rolling Eyes

Well, they're gonna let me know if I got the job, by the end of this week, but I am quite sceptical about it. I mean, applying for a corporate lawyer position, not being able to answer a corporate law related question. In my defence it was kind of a short notice interview, but still.

todays

employment agencies

applied for a job I had seen advertised two weeks ago heard nothing
til yesterday got this message
"you applied for a job with us as a warehouse supervisor on (date) unfortunately that position has gone would you be interested in this position" it was twenty miles further away with less money and hours

I have had three like this already this week sure they just advertise to get your details on their books

also the granddad thing

poor bloke has just lost his wife, his daughter and son in law live next door to them
because they cant be bothered to look after him (his wife did everything)they dump him in the local pub
he was sat in the corner chuntering away to himself as had no one to talk to then decided he wanted to go home and was about to walk until the barmaid stopped him
he hadn't got a clue what time they were picking him up and thought it was five o clock (it was half two)
I bought him half and ended up taking him home when I went to pick my little un up from school only to be told we didn't want him back til five we were coming to get him then Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Went cashpoint at Asda. Selected £200, machine makes loads of noises and takes longer than usual to give monies. I count said monies..only £180. Check online banking...shows £200 withdrawn. Have to fill out an online form to get Yorkshire Bank to look into this.
