Tap wrench, you clearly have great confidence in how this is going to go!

Good luck. Thumbs Up

Well with possible asbestos in the pads I'm thinking the safer option.

Asbestos hasn't been in brake pads for about 30 years...

If you want to be ''safe'' use gloves, no need for the mask, this won't be another Breaking bad episode. Smile

The dust from the pads is carcinogenic though, don't blow on them, don't lick them, wash your hands after you're done. Thumbs Up

I got gloves! Razz

I've sort of inspected and planned it out for now, didnt really get the time.

both breaks are binding a little bit.

The trottle cable needs lubing its sticks when I turn right. Which is not good.

Emery paper good for removing erosion correct?

throttle cable will be routed wrong or not have enough free play. binding brakes will be corrosion either on the back of the pads or behind the dust or piston seals, possibly even on the brake pistons

The idle is too low. Let's say the rev counter works alright, then you've got there less than 1000 rpm. You should have the idle between 1200 and 1400 rpm. Most of the motorcycle engines can't hold steady idle below 1000 rpm, especially when the engine is cold. Thumbs Up

Ah just noticed you've got the same bike as me Smile My idle is set at 1200 rpm and it's a bit lumpy, I've been meaning to do valve clearances which should hopefully sort it, if not then I'll balance the carbs too. I also seem to be getting excessive vibes which hopefully will get sorted by doing clearances and balancing.

I changed my oil and filter 3 weeks ago and serviced a few other bits, if you want some info on anything let me know.

Shocked Wow, how could you've missed that?

The plugs are alright, you just need to ride the bike more and give it hell every now and then to get rid of the carbon deposits, which I do believe would be all over the pistons and the head. Just go flat out, shift gears at the top of the rev range, and most of it will just fly away through the exhaust. You can also buy some fuel aditives, but that's just waste of money.

By the way, the plugs can also be cleaned with a file or iron brush, but be careful not to bend the ''contacts''. I'm not sure what word you use for those pieces of metal.
