Also, picked this up for the Mrs. It's almost a dead ringer for mine in the background. £325!!

Did a taster day about five years ago and enjoyed it, thought I'd give it a go for myself. Only ridden into the hedge so far on this though.

Need to investigate where to ride it. Tonymoto is only up the road, think there's a trialsy bit there.

I rebuilt most of a Gasser JTR250 a while ago and had a play around the farmland on it.

Evil things.

But, I did quite like it.....

Sorry I didn't get back to you - had Man-Flu and it was 'on the list'.

What did you pay for the Beta , if you don't mind posting publicly?

£1100 - which seems to be at the lower end of the scale for the year, etc. It's been well looked after is the main thing.

I don't see the value dropping below that significantly in the next few years.

I can't ride it very well.

Seems like a decent price for that year.

I was going to have to ask for more than what I paid for mine on the basis that the prices do seem to have gone up a bit and to replace it I'd have to spend more too.

Up for some trials-playing some time, maybe Smile.

For the basic stuff (ie going up/down steep stuff), you don't need to be good - the bike does it with minimal input from the rider, I've found Smile.

Tonymoto used to have a little trials section.

Though, you might be better to find out if any local clubs have practice areas, or just go to some actual trials.

When I was in Reading found a local club that had a practice area that did regular weekday evenings in the summer for £5. Also there was a local 'classic' trials place about two miles away where I did an event for a tenner - it was marked, but you wrote your own score down on a clip board.
Also another local trial (proper one, so a bit harder) for a similar price, but that included food and a beer at the end!

Hi Garth, Iv'e just bought myself a Sherco on new years day. Also a complete novice.
I'm guessing your'e fairly local to me if you are thinking of going to Tony Moto.
Give me a shout and we can meet up and have a play around on our bikes together, without the worry of looking total fools.
Pete

Don't worry, I have a gopro so I can video myself looking like a fool, just in case. Laughing

Didn't you have an enduro bike?

Not ideal for trials stuff - go get yourself to enduro kent or enduroloand!

How challenging is it, to ride a trials bike? I can handle 2 brakes, clutch and the throttle, but I'm not balancing on the edge, nor jumping from one obstacle to another when doing it. Smile

Got lots of bikes....

Drz
Gasgas txt pro 250
stomp 140 supermoto
fazer
vt600 chop
c90
gn250 sidecar
zx6r

But for this I think the gas gas will be fun/funny only ridden it once which mainly consisted of a poorly executed wheelie narrowly missing my greenhouse.

Ah, my apologies - wrong person.

Basics of Trials east to start in Rhyno - as with anything, the top level requires a lot of skill.

Yeah course. Where do you live? Anywhere local to you?

Going to have to sort this towbar out pronto I think. Can't be relying on borrowing vans etc.

The Beta looks very smart! Thumbs Up

If I one day get back into trials riding, I would really like a TY250Mono or the later TYZ250, as I always mainly rode Yamaha's except for briefly having a Fantic 305 with funny kickstart!
