When I took my RVF for MOT late last year I saw one of the bikes on a ramp (my 400 senses were tingling!) After speaking to the garage owner about it he showed me the other bike. Long story short last Friday he turned up at mine with a Luton van filled with bits.
The road bike.

There's an absolute fucktonne of spares, 2 frames, 3 sets of wheels, 4 engines with more to come, bodywork, electrics, another Ram air box etc

Some of the spare engines have had work done, this one has 0.5mm oversize pistons and a lightened and balanced crank/rod set
https://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb73/sam_billing_91/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-01/20150107_124346.jpg
This one is allegedly running a worked bottom end, 1mm o/s pistons and a ported and polished head, as I can't find my x-ray specs I can't prove the internal work, but it's certainly had headwork.

Race bike is running MCT worked forks, Öhlins shock, Sprint steering damper, ram air, small fuel cell, BEET exhaust with MHP can and Promach rearsets plus engine work. ____________________ '84 TS50X, '91 TZR125, '89 CBR400RR, '91 VFR400R NC30, '98 R1

There's the best part of 3 and a half bikes there, 2 complete, one in bits plus a frame engine and loom to start a 4th with spares left over.
The black one is definitely pretty highly specced, the engine hasn't long had a refresh, its running a Brembo 19x20 mc on later Tokico 4 pots, kit wiring loom, ram air box, SP cams.

There's loads of spares aswell all sorts of pretty expensive bits I can sell, plus if I get the road bike finished and through an MOT I reckon I can make £1000-1200 back in one hit ____________________ '84 TS50X, '91 TZR125, '89 CBR400RR, '91 VFR400R NC30, '98 R1

For me I'd get the road going one sorted, and sell it on. Keep the race one with the spare engines and build up a 2nd bike with wets. You'd have 2 race bikes then, and if you sold the road one they'd owe you 2 and a half grand plus whatever you put in to get them going.
2 race 400, especially the kawasakis are worth the money they'll owe you. I'd get the black one on the dyno and not take it all apart. Wouldn't be surprised if that was 80hp + if it's had the work you say. Easiest way to tell what's been done is just to get it on the dyno. ____________________ CBT Passed: 30/08/2009, Theory Passed: 31/08/2010, Mod 1 Passed: 6/9/2010, Mod 2 Passed: 13/09/2010. Cheers mate got to find time for it all! Just started tearing my other RVF down for spares and am working my ass off elsewhere.
Going to focus on the road bike first, it needs indicators and an exhaust strap for the MOT and for tastes sake a clear screen as purple is just stupid! That lot should run me under £50-75 all in and will get the MOT done so I can put it up at the start of spring when people will be looking for bikes again. ____________________ '84 TS50X, '91 TZR125, '89 CBR400RR, '91 VFR400R NC30, '98 R1

Yeah, been keeping my eye on them mate got a nice little surprise lined up for one of the bikes
Got the first lot of bits yesterday, shock is due tomorrow. Hoping to get a chance to empty the boxes out and get a rolling chassis built up soon, I have all the bits to get the front end together, just need to dig out a rear axle, cush drive rubbers and shock bolts to get the rear end sorted. ____________________ '84 TS50X, '91 TZR125, '89 CBR400RR, '91 VFR400R NC30, '98 R1

Started on it yesterday before I went to bed after nightshift, gave the frame a wipe down and put aside most of the bits for the front end ready to put it together later on. Will make sure pictures follow today ____________________ '84 TS50X, '91 TZR125, '89 CBR400RR, '91 VFR400R NC30, '98 R1

I thought you meant the 4 pot gsxr ones ok the 4 pot nissins are indeed brilliant, their the same as the ones on my sp1 I think. Still the gsxr 6 pots aren't anywhere near as bad as you implied and they're certainly better than the rubbish Kawasaki put on as standard ____________________ nonstop unicorns vomiting sunshine pills into a rainbow toilet
