Despite the horrific centres, they are actually extremely well made wheels.
Not one of them are buckled, and they were on a Range Rover before this.

Today, I finished the window surround, having a screen put in Tuesday.

Next job is to cut the side windows in. Collecting them on Sunday.

One of the lads at work is having a bash for his 50th birthday and we've been told it's an 80's fancy dress do.
The guys at work are begging us to go as the A-team and take the van! Laughing

Ref the wheels being unsightly. Main thing is, they're different.
Every Transit out there has the Sport van wheels bolted to it, and a badly fitted sport van kit.
It's like putting GTi badges on a 1.4 Golf.

Drove to Leeds yesterday, and back again today.
Good trip, got to see the family, and picked up a set of Connect arches while I was up there.
Collected my side windows from my Uncle's house too. They're brilliant! Sliding openers and tinted black, will get them all fitted up on Wednesday.

Got some things on my wish list.
There is a 2m Fan-Mat online, but it's very expensive!
I would love it to fit in the front footwells. Once can dream.

https://epicsports.cachefly.net/images/93477/0/FanMats/F0015748.jpg

Also looking for a set of truck curtains for the front:

https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xap1/v/t1.0-9/10360350_1563200120614410_2594623573372361574_n.jpg?oh=afc71cad4fa5c543b83bd27afa958d18&oe=55A3C9D4&__gda__=1438493421_bd561860419af7d54563e6e9448258f7

Will be fitting marker lights in my new side bars (When I buy them).
And I have just bought a set of side window wind-deflectors.
Hopefully an external sun visor will crop up cheap because again, they are like £300. I'm not spending that just for some pikey to come and bend my doors up to steal it.

Finally collected my side openers.
They were a little damaged, and completely filthy. The locking mechs on both windows were partially seized and made opening them difficult, which is why I think they had started to break.

I took them apart, glued the runners back down with some grip and grab I got from my Fiance's Grandad (Amazing stuff!), and then WD40'd the locking mechs.
Gave them a good clean, and put them back together. Sprayed loads of silicone spray into the runners, and they are like new now. Will be cutting them in on Wednesday.

https://scontent-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/10951166_10153218846595606_8588241361491610372_n.jpg?oh=ae9878f112fc60656bd0dd415e795e5b&oe=55BE9195

Trial fitted the new arches too. They fit SOOO much better than the old ones, and look right on the van.
Fronts will take a bit of trimming because they will foul the bottom of the doors, but I can work with that

I'm not gonna lie, I do heave a little bit every time I see this thing.

However, all is forgiven on account of the fact that you're doing a proper job of it, so fair play to you, you blind loon.

Once it's got 4 arches on, and the windows are in, I am sure it will start to look a little bit more acceptable. Laughing

I'm really looking forward to getting it back on the road. I really miss how practical it was (For me).

Hi Binge, just out of interest how are you fitting the wheel arch extensions to the bodywork? I've never done it, so wondered if they are bonded on, riveted on, etc?

Oh yeah and is the van still kitted out inside with all the big TV and comforts it had before?

So I cheated a little bit doing the window on the side loading door.
The other window is going to be a little bit more tricky.

No offence meant, but it's looking much less pikey van like with those new windows in! Thumbs Up

I reckon it'll look good with the arches on and painted, have you thought of fitting roof bars maybe too?

The reason I ask is that if you squint a bit I reckon this could be a kind of Euro look slammed VW T4 style surf dude vehicle, and with that plush interior you could probably sell it to the Newquay wave catchers quite easily if you ever wanted to?

The big FMIC sounds cool though, are there any other engine mods on it at all? Remap?

I lowered it so I can get into car parks. Roof bars would look cool, but completely defeat the original plan to get it lower. Razz
But I did look at some a while back, would love the wood slatted type ones.

Ref the intercooler, once it's got a big Front mount fitted, I will source some 2.4 TDCi injectors, a Mondeo Titanium 155 turbo, and some solid boost pipe work.
Combine that with a de-cat, and a custom map, some good power can be had.
Some of the lads are running 200bhp setups. I would like to see it up to 150bhp if I can.

Started fitting up the Connect arches.
Fronts still arent wide enough. Doh!
Next option is to either go for skinnier tyres, and stretch them on a bit, or modify the top mounts and run a bit of camber.
Or a combination of both.

Will be getting the SportVan kit for it, so that will cover up the ends of the arches.

Sound proofing laid down. Blue carpet (Nice and camper van style Smile ), seats bolted back in, and wiring re-laid so it's all out of sight.
Looks nice, not sure how long it'll stay clean. It's a lot lighter than the photo shows

Today I started making an Island table.

MDF, covered with white carbon effect vinyl. And then overlaid with the Ford Logo.
Cut out with a Jig-saw.

Next I need to get some thin perspex, and somehow glue it on top to protect the vinyl, and give a nice flat, and durable surface.

Those Transits with 200hp must shift and take a few by surprise!
