Not the way to go out is it. Sad

Must be pretty bad if the surgeons won't operate.

So, CS27 still has a set of keys.... Thinking

The other 6 years years when he had the best bike and no arm pump doesn't count then?

A combination of bad luck, big injuries and a lack of killer instinct.

Likely candidates to replace him? Stoner?

I don't think he would have had that ride for the last few years if he wasn't Puig's protege...

No fucks given anyway.

Here is what Livio Suppo (aka Honda) has to say about it.

https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/217095/1/honda-we-need-to-help-pedrosa.html

Suppo did say that even with this problem he is still very competitive.

See, I thought that was a strange one - direct blame of a manufacturer's equipment. Think he'll get an Arai next then?

....so more dribbles of truth leak out.

If armpump isn't a problem during tests with race simulations then maybe he can needs to scoff a few pies and do some more pressups. Rolling Eyes

I thought in his statement he'd been told by a load of doctors that further surgery wouldn't work.
Hiro is a safe but rather boring choice. Will probably get some useful testing data and secure a few points for honda without much crashing so makes sense I guess.

I'm a massive Danni fan but I think he's been through enough surgery now. I hope this surgery fixes the problem if not he should hang up the leathers with his head held high on his day he's beaten everyone.

Yea, thats what he said. The reason they don't want to do it is because there is already a lot of scar tissue in that area and cutting him will add more to it which risks nerve damage.

Ah well, I guess there are only so many times you can start at the front and go backwards. Its gotta start grating at some point. Surprised he hasn't quit before now, tbh. Exclamation

He's won a race every year since joining motogp.
More premier class wins than Freddy Spencer, Kenny Roberts snr, Schwantz, Rainey, Gardner and Surtees.

I for one hope he returns.

Hats off to him for competing in MotoGP!

However, he's tiny, so I can't say his injuries comes as a, huge, surprise.
When he moved from 250s to MotoGP there was speculation that he was too small to handle the bikes, he proved his critics wrong, but that's, obviously, taken its toll!

As well as having to play second fiddle for the majority of his MotoGP career, as said previously, he never seemed to have the killer instinct!

So long to the MotoGP Hobbit!

It wasn't so long ago that some of the heavier moto GP riders were calling for a minimum weight limit because they felt Pedrosa had an unfair advantage.

I've always felt a tad sorry for Pedrosa. He's got the speed and the talent but each year there has always been injuries to cope with or someone else that has had a better package. What with Marquez owning him in his first couple of years in Motogp makes me think he's took another psychological battering for which he'll never make it back to the front and challenging for championships.

I couldnt careless for Pedrosa im afraid . I think i would probably feel different about him if he wasnt in his TENTH YEAR ON FACTORY HONDA !!!!
Imagine how good most pro's would be with that oppotunity.
Say Johnny Rea for example .....
He's kept that ride because of Puig , and it stinks.
If anything, a move away from the fire breathing honda's to a more user freindly Yam would probably have helped his career.

I agree with you somewhat here. Obviously he is greatly talented but I wouldn't say more so than someone like Nicky Hayden, and look at how he's slowly sliding down the ladder.

On a separate note - Stoner threw his hat in the ring for this and Honda said no Crying or Very sad

I like Hayden but wouldn't say he's on a par with Pedrosa and certainly not better than him.
Check out his stats...check out his injury list. The bloke is extremely talented and very unlucky.
You could argue that Nicky won in 2006 with a hand from lady luck.

Didn't Rea ride a motoGP Honda in 2012?...and he's not won any Championships in any class (yet).

Last I heard Pedrosa had found a surgeon and is hoping to be back if the operation works.

Yeah I saw a tweet saying its a shame he's not riding and that having not ridden for a while wouldn't really bother him as it would just be a bit of fun.
From Honda's point of view Hiro is a better choice but it seems like Stoner is at least likely to wildcard in the future if he gets the chance. Thumbs Up

Rea did ride 1 round I think. Honda were apparently impressed with his input. You can't just jump on Bridgestones and go fast mid season .
Rea is still quite young . He didn't hang around to win champs when he could move up . He's spent recent times overy riding a pretty uncompetitive honda , and getting injured because of it.
Now look how good he is !
But there are a lot of pros that with half the time Dani has had at hrc , could have produced just as much .
