I went, I saw, I fell, a deposit was paid, newly imported from Europe, I will be the first UK registered owner Mr. Green

1998 Yamaha TZR. Not much to restore on this one it's clean as fook Cool
One small repair on the left side fairing, that i will flatten out, and then maybe go for the traditional TZR decals but in white only Thumbs Up

Nice purchase! Thumbs Up (ya bastad Evil or Very Mad )

Laughing

Just noticed the H100A is now up for sale too - seems quite a bargain for someone! Shocked

Any plans for the TZR other than decals? Looks nice and tidy but are you intending to keep the matt black?

This will be staying as standard, TZR in this nick are worth a pretty penny these days Wink be criminal to 'mod' it. I might change the matt black for a nice shiney gloss finish, there is a tiny blemish on the tank and the end can is dented so those will get sorted at some stage.. Apart from that.... I'm going to ride the ass off her

I had someone come and test ride the H100 yesterday, he left with the biggest grin ever... I think someones getting a nice old school ride for a fair price, I could probably part it out along with all the spares I could get more.. but id like it to live on. Someone can take over and take her to the next level Wink

Just looking a bit closer at the pictures i took of the TZR, I think it's the 4DL.. though its imported from the Swiss market so would be know as the 4HE. Seems to have the features associated with the 4DL/HE
Brembo braking system,
Storage under the pillion seat
absence of a sidelight suggests it's the 2nd series.

I'll be filling out some paper work for the registration sometime next week, so will have a proper look at all the numbers, so will get a better idea of the model Thumbs Up

You sir have made an excellent purchase there! Thumbs Up

A 4HW 94-97 TZR, that was always always my fave TZR125 of all time.

I may be a strange one, but I really don't like the much more fugly looking 4DL's built in Italy. I think its the TZR 3MA frame and fairing design that's never done anything for me! The reverse twin 250 was the only ugly ducking of the TZR250 lineage, and the same looking 4DL 125 is no better I'm afraid.

You have a bike with the 3XV frame and fairing design which makes it the cute little sister to the 3XV which is dangerously spunkable over, and the 250cc sports bike that I'd most like to be locked in the garage with, with the tissues! Laughing

I still have a fair amount of 4DL parts left over from a bike I broke for spares.

Let me know if you need anything.

I do like riding these. Something rewarding about keeping it on the boil through some twisties.

You think it's the 4HW Stevo? I'm hazarding a guess by google comparison , they all look very similar in appearance to me Mr. Green

I think i made a good choice, but to be fair I wasn't actually looking to buy another bike, I was just trawling ebay and it caught my eye, turned out it was only just down the road from me, so went for a look. I couldn't believe how clean she was and when he fired her up...... I sat in the seat gave her a few revs..... and well you can guess the rest Mr. Green It was like take my money NOW Twisted Evil She come with full Swiss dealership history, full MOT on NOVA ready to register as UK Smile
I might just pop down later to check the numbers see what it can tell me, and maybe rub my groin in her saddle for a bit Mr. Green

I quite like the flat black, makes it look a bit different. A quick image search the silver and red decals look really nice.

I feel right twat! Laughing

It has the same exhaust and swing arm as 4HW I lust over, but the fairing is not right on a closer look. The 4HW has the 3XV fairing with the cute rounded headlight, but the frame is very similar to the 4HX and very different from the ugly 4DL/3MA's.

It's understandable the difference across the range is slight to my eyes, to be fair if i'd shown this view, i'm sure you'd have got it bang on Wink

White and black zebra crossing look wouldn't be for me tbh, just doesn't suit the style of bike IMVHO.
If I was going for decals over the matt black I think I'd want more than one colour or maybe swap the white for silver / met' grey instead.

Obviously your own bike though so do it to your own taste Thumbs Up

Also, congrat's on the longest username title! Laughing

This is just a mock up, I like the black and white scheme as you see from my cafe. Also my business cards are in the same colour scheme. Wink

I'd go for this as a nice sponsor style sticker..
I am thinking of getting a couple of these done up to have on the bike and would most likely add the red part of the graphix on the bike shown above, but with the Yamaha in black as well as YPVS on the seat sticker, also in black.

The wheels are in good nick underneath, still the odd stubborn spot to remove and the front still needs doing Rolling Eyes

Think I'll keep them purple for a while, I may re dip as i liked them white, but might also give matt black a shot..

The white wheels look classy IMO - got a full picture of the bike with purple wheels?

How did the plastidip peel off, relatively well without stripping the paint underneath? I'm considering doing my wheels on the old hornet and like the idea of it being able to peel off!
