I made a centre-stand for my R1100S. The stock one is too short for bikes fitted with the factory sports pack and don't lift the wheel off the floor so I made it taller than stock.

I cut the legs from steel tube and chopped a piece out of some old engine crash bars for the brace. Drilled the brace at the correct centres for the leg span.

Cut the pivots from thick steel flat bar

Made a temporary spacer to hold the pivots at the correct centres an tacked them on

Welded the brace in at the correct height

Hack-sawed a fish-mouth at the top of the tube, crimped it in the vice and welded it fully. This is to add strength and to stop the tube filling with water.

Welded the foot pads to the bottom of the tube, and then welded the stops on the inside of the pivots (not shown here)

And a test-fit. Going to finish it tomorrow by fitting the spring peg, the rubber stop bracket and the foot lever then give it a coat of paint

Kinda on topic... But I have to post this pic.

This is Temeluchus, when I was asked him to help me change a rear shock.

Finished. All I need now is a centre-stand spring, which I feel I ought to have but can't find one of.
