Bet the rest of the group would have been thrilled to know that they were sharing the track with a CBT n00ber. Laughing

I assume that when you showed them your full (pink) driving license, they didn't look closely enough to notice that it's a full car entitlement with only provisional bike?

I just produced the photocard, as asked .. Hardly a Noob as i've been riding nearly 4 (sorry 3)years. Just not had the funds for a DAS. Plenty of nobheads with full bike licences out there, it doesn't automatically make one a better/safer rider Wink As I say I arrived on L's for all to see, many of the guys there were very welcoming and generally interested in my bike and how I found my day. The old school boys (those that are ex racers probably do track days every opertunity) especially welcoming. Thumbs Up

Just for shits here's some more pics of me being a CBT Noob Mr. Green

For the most part until you have full bike entitlement you aren't allowed on track but fair okay. Looked fun and as long as you enjoyed it Very Happy

I think I'll make some enquiries with them in the week, to see what licence is required for trackdays, as you got me thinking maybe I got through as an oversight Laughing My misses is planning on booking me again for an xmas gift, so I don't want to go again, only to be turned away Rolling Eyes

From what I've since browsed on line, it looks like different requirements for different tracks, some stricter that others. Maybe It was a good job she didn't book me for Brands after all Mr. Green

I did wonder with your initial lap time equating to under a 35mph average (which suggests a good bit of the time you were a fair bit less than that Shocked ).

I've seen superteens (Aprilia RS125) doing fine in the fast group on their 'road' 125.
Personally I wouldn't choose to ride a 125 road bike at faster trackers, especially if less experienced - I'd worry someone would pile into me on the straights etc.
I've raced and managed something like an eleventh pace position in minitwins with a 35hp SV (person infront of me had 72hp), however I had a pretty decent pace on and my corner exit speed was decent enough, so made good use of those horses. Wouldn't want the same at a trackday given the choice generally.

I do rather expect it was an oversight - they saw the pink licence and presumed you were ok. Saying that, licence not checked at all at Mallory I believe. You've got no chance with MSV however.

I don't think the first lap time could be a comparison for the general speed of the day, As I was following the tutor to get the racing lines and a general feel for the curcuit, as nothing was officially timed, he just threw a few times at me at the end of the day, just to show i made improvement so to speak. I only looked down at my clock once the entire day and that was along the finish/start line straight, on one of my last session laps, hitting 70 along there at the time. As a guess i felt as though I'd not been as fast as I have previously on road, maybe averaging around 50mph, but its just guess work as i say I was told to ignore/not look at my clock and was more concerned with getting round the bends than clocking my straight line speed Wink

I do hope it wasn't an oversight as Lydden is only 20 mins ride from me and I would really like to go again Embarassed
