Don't forget your ear plugs, or the sound of all your neighbours car alarms, but especially your fuel card or some body elses if possible!

Both names work for me, but yeah Super Hawk is cool, just like a Honda Hurricane is a much cooler sounding name than CBR600F!

Don't like the high level cans too much, and being carbon watch for them blowing apart which sometimes does happen to scabby old ones.

Jeez, can't you choose a user name that doesn't contain a bike name? Rolling Eyes

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Everyone moans and groans about how thirsty these are. I personally didn't find it too much of a problem and thoroughly enjoyed the bike! I'm sure you will too.

Make sure the new cct's are manual and not automatic, as the automatic ones have a tendency to fail.

You might want to check whether there are any restrictor plates in the rubber inlet tubes between the carbs/cylinder head. Not sure about US spec bikes, but I bought one over in NZ that had restrictors. Made a big difference removing them Thumbs Up

The rep these have for fuel consumption is nonsense. They easily manage ~35mpg in my experience. It's just the small tank size on the earlier models that limits tank range to ~90-100 miles. Back in '98, that was relatively poor, but it's fairly typical now IME.
