Hi , thought I`d show what I`ve done so far with my bike, have broke it all down and removed all chassis and wheel bearings ready for new. Fixed a small ding on the frame and now setting about the petrol tank , a lot of elbow grease . I thought it might have been past saving but its coming on alright, only had the bike a month or so and pretty pleased with what I`ve done. Any thoughts.

Fair play with that frame repair! It'd just have got a skim of filler from me Laughing

Are you planning on polishing the frame up then?

Yeh , thought about that but then theres always a problem if you wanted the frame cleaned up with a deep dip process, at least tis way the allu fill will stay in

Leave as is and wipe it with an oily rag every now and then. Ducati had a bare tank on a 1098 at the nec bike show once. Looked Cool

Might do that for a while, will be working on each part as time goes by and put together at the end , fork stancions next maybe a rechrome , did hear the EU were trying to stop rechroming.

Have been for a while. Somehing to do with the process murdering nature and those cute little puppies that have skin too big for their bodies and are all wrinkly. Not many places left doing it these days, used to be tons of chroming places.

If you want another one for parts I have a CBR400 Tri-Arm in my garden minus bodywork, electrics and engine. It's in Maidstone, Kent and yours for the sum of fifty ponds. Parents are screwing about getting it gone.

ha, your doing all the same bits as me this week.

tank looks good, mine was full of braze.

on your disc, i presume its not stainless, so you going to powder or paint?

if paint, have you got any ideas yet? ive just used por 15 black velvet, but its too thick. other vht's ive used have been prone to rust when used as an aerosol. do you think that its going to be too hot for standard paint?

Hi Pip , going to see what colour scheme its going to be first , as you might know getting the plastics for these are like hens teeth , probably end up getting some from Ali Express , all in cost would be about £350 including Vat and import duties , but plenty to do in the meantime. I would have thought standard and lacquer would do.Bill
