Hi everyone I am a new member looking for advice on the rebuild of my 1960 slimline Triton café racer, I will attempt to post a pic of how I bought it and it was up and running but engine, gearbox, and tank done so far and a choice of 2 seats I am stuck at the moment looking for a stainless rear mudguard that I can fit and shorten if needed but everyone seems to be out of stock it must be C shaped not flat sides and undrilled, problems have been plenty and probably more to come

Very nice , what are you going to do with it ?

If I was lucky enough to own your bike, the tyres would be the first thing to update.
Old tyres were very poor back in the day, new stuff has better construction, rubber compounds and design. I have a seeley race framed replica and it runs 18 inch wheels and the latest avon endurance tyres, unimaginable grip compared to old stuff....

This year I will be happy just to get it riding again it is in pieces at the moment with a rebuilt engine fitted with Morgo 750 barrels, big bearing crank and also a triumph rebuilt gearbox, I have just had the tank which is fibreglass ethanol sealed and professionally painted in a dark metal flake red with Triton graphics in gold I have a new central ally oil tank, the wheels will get alloy rims and stainless spokes when I can afford them. I will not be upgrading the size because this is a nostalgic trip for me and it will probably do more miles on the trailer than on the road as the clip-ons and rearsets will not do my 63 year old back any favours it will be ridden but locally and just for pleasure, next year every nut and bolt will come off to have the frame powder coated electric blue and sort any more problems and a few I have not cured to my satisfaction

Hitchcocks Motorcycles (The big royal Enfield place) do a variety of mudguards. For Enfields but they are 19" wheels so the curve should be correct.
