No I haven't been caught.

In January a motorcyclist filming himself doing speeds up to 155 mph was jailed for "at least a year".

Man in a Seat does it and gets a ban for less than 2 months, pays less than £400 in fees.

Incredible ...

Steal a motorbike trash it and abandon it in a ditch, get a community service order and an £80 fine.

Steal a motorbike, carry out criminal damage to it to the tune of £2k and evade arrest by running from the police when told to stop. Not considered to be in public interest. Get released without charge.

Steal a motorbike, get caught riding it around a public park. Get it taken off you. Not even name taken.

Don't fill in a SORN form for a scrap motorcycle. Court appearance, £240 fine +victim surcharge.

Drive over the top of a mini roundabout at 2am. £30 fine for failure to comply with road sign.

Respect for the UK criminal justice system. Fuck-all.

Yes and no. They were not convicted for the same outright offences.

The lad in the car got done for speeding on a pin straight and flat piece of dual carriageway late at night. The biker got done for 4 counts of dangerous driving and the speed he filmed himself at just compounded the series of other offences he'd filmed himself committing.

If nothing else, the biker should be jailed for the monumental stupidity of filming the whole thing.

It's still a 'what if' conviction. Your fine/prison sentence depends on how many kittens the beak thinks you could potentially kill, and not how many you did.

You can do 150mph on an autobahn in Germany and no kittens are killed, carry on Sir. You do 150 on a motorway in UK and no kittens are killed yet you go to jail for six months.

Fair comment and I'm not ranting about this direct comparison but when prison is an expectation for being caught doing a wheelie on a dual carriageway, a slap on the wrist for maxing your car out is silly.
