K5 GSXR 1000, 14k miles, FSH, 12 months MOT, no advisories on any of the MOT's since 2009, HPI clear, Micron can & decat, ECU flashed, R&G bobbins, tail tidy & HID kit. £3,250

The bad bit...
Wtf has he done to the fairings... Current owner claims previous owner had the OEM pannels painted & powder coated wheels to suit to his taste. I'm guessing Chinese panels, current owner is just passing details down from previous owner.

Whys it perfect? I've got a decent blank canvas once the fairings are off. I'm also left with a fair chunk of change from my budget & first on the list is OEM fairings & some trick bits over time. This bike will look nice (to me anyway) once I've finished with it.

If it were me I'd leave it like that and do a load of trackdays. If I ended up throwing it down the track I'd then consider swapping things I reckon.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I must say... Thinking Thinking Thinking

Doesnt look terrible... Especially for a track bike...

Are you keeping it for the track or putting it back on the road?

It's a road bike already as it has a number plate, indicators and lights....

Green and white is not really my cup of tea. Would look better with some standard panels or at least something a bit darker. Definitely get rid of the white mirror stalks!

Looks like a nice bike apart from the colour, did the previous owner wish he'd bought a kawasaki? Liking the new wheels is that a good price?

Great price on fairings and wheels + discs.

Fairings on it are hideous, but I'm sure someone would buy them with the wheels.

Will advertise the wheels for £250 for the pair including discs. Probably be good set as somebodies track day wets.

Fairings I'll probably keep as emergency spares and if I do have spare cash at some point I might even consider getting them sprayed or wrapped.

Nice. This is exactly what i would do, because that green and white is vulgar. But wouldnt it make more financial sense to have the current wheels powdercoated black?

Had money left over from budget, these wheels came up at a reasonable price. The way I looked at it was I've bought a K5 GSXR 1000 with Oz wheels and a spare set of standard rims for £4k. £4-4.5k was my budget.

So in total for £4,325...

I've got spare fairings (albeit in a nasty scheme)
Spare wheels & discs
and a mint K5 1000 with good history.

As for the tank, temporarily I'm going to get a vinyl sticker made up so that the Suzuki S is blue rather than green on the tank & wait around for a decent second hand tank in the original scheme to match the fairings I bought.

Wheels look nice, are they much lighter, or just for tart factor?

Thumbs Up

The green and white wasn't actually that dreadful IMO, I still get why you went back to standard mind.

They're apperently 25% lighter than standard, holding them one after the other, they don't seem that much lighter. Wish I'd weighed them now, but if I'm honest... Aesthetics was the main drive for getting the wheels. I also believe they're the same model wheel used by John Reynolds on his 2003 Rizla Suzuki GSXR in BSB, if that is the case I'm guessing they're decent.

Kinda liked the green and white. I've been told my taste is awful though. Who cares though? You buy a bike for you not for others to look at!
