Just don't.

I received a semi-frantic call from a mate of mine, explaining how he was innocently riding along, then he heard a 'donk' and oil started pissing out everywhere.
Unbeknownst to me, his GF was sat next to him and he didn't want to tell her what had really happened
Cue me finding where he parked the bike by the trail of oil....starting from a pedestrian walkway; a shortcut into his missus' estate from the local Tesco!
One sump, lots of swearing and stripping what seemed like a silly amount of bike off to get to it, he's back up and running
Bike is a CBR600RR. ____________________ C50 > GN250 > XJ600 > SV650S K7 > 2001 RSV Mille R > MT-09, XR400R > 2005 Fireblade (trackbike) + 2022 MT-09 + ZXR400 race bike |

Bet he won't do that again.
When I was doing some work at the Paddington basin right next to where the elevated section of the A40 starts there was a down-ramp they were working on. To slow traffic right down they put in some pretty vicious speed calming humps and leading up to them they put TEN huge signs saying SLOW - RAMPS. Every half hour you'd hear a screech of tyres followed by a huge crunch, and quite a few people smashed their sumps on them. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Both the downpipes and sump on the CBR600RR sit below the belly pan.
Belly pan was untouched, one downpipe has a slight dent, and, well...you've seen the picture ____________________ C50 > GN250 > XJ600 > SV650S K7 > 2001 RSV Mille R > MT-09, XR400R > 2005 Fireblade (trackbike) + 2022 MT-09 + ZXR400 race bike |
