Hi all picked up a cg cheap yesterday and when looking around it today noticed that the fuse was missing by the battery. could anyone tell me what size fuse it should take.

also when i switch the ignition on the headlight light warning light lights up to say its in neutral and the neutral lights up if the lights are on. do i ake it this is a straing forward case of swapping some wires over.
cheers lee

The lights are coming on with no fuse fitted? expect bodgery.

My suspicion is that the warning lights will simply push-fit into the back of the speedo fitting, so it'll just be a case of pulling them out an pushing them back into the right holes.

The lights and fuse on a CG are completley irrelevant, A CG needs the engine running to turn the lights on, and it can run without a battery, seen as the fuse is right next to the battery it doesnt really matter.

Agree with you on the idiot light bulbs being messed around though, just pull them out and put them in the right place.

Cheers
John

Not entirely true - Headlight and tail-light will be un-fused direct lighting, everything else (e.g. neutral light, indicators, brake light) will run off the battery and should certainly be fused. If you run a bike without a battery, it'll go but there's a risk of exploding all manner of things because the battery acts like a huge smoothing capacitor in conjunction with the regulator.

on my wifes old cg the lights and indicators never worked when the engine wasnt running although the neutral light used to come on and perhaps oil light but cant exactly remember.

start her up and all the lights worked, if the battery was disconnected or flat then when starting up the neutral light would flicker with the revs, if battery was good then it was a nice solid bright light.
