I can totally relate to having YouTube guilty pleasures. One of my absolute favorites is watching videos of cars being tested and, well, crashing. It's a mix of fascination and a little bit of excitement, I must admit.

Is that something a bot would say? (Asking for a frend.)

I've been enjoying the Pethericks working on chateau and convent in France.
Though it has been a bit mundane recently.

I like reaction videos, particularly reactions to music, TV or movies that I love. It makes me feel like I have friends.
Thus I'm subscribed to loads of reaction channels. I have a bit of a crush on Awkward Ashleigh, Aileen Senpai and Mary
Cherry. I also really like the bluntly humorous observations of current affairs by The Angry Bootneck and The
Reverend Simon Sideways. I like Replicant Phish and a couple of drumming channels El Estepario Siberiano
and Delta Empire especially. The rest are mainly video games channels and a few bike channels including Fortnine,
BVG, 44 Teeth and Chaos Causes.

Garage54.

Mental Russian mechanic. Makes wooden pistons and puts in engine for lolz, 'water filled diff' and circular saw blades for wheels are other gems.

Would have thought a guilty pleasure is something that you wouldn't ordinarily watch.

That for me would be no music related or bike related videos.

I don't play snooker and have watched a fair few Stephen Hendry's Cue Tips vids.

Mentour Pilot is another channel. He's a working passenger pilot that answers questions about his day to day activities and has recently done in-depth breakdowns of aeroplane incidents and crashes.

We all climbed things as kids so maybe that's why I've enjoyed watching many hours of climbing videos. The old stuff with Joe Brown and Don Whillans, Chris Bonnington re-doing their original routes and some of their proper epic expeditions. Here's a taster https://youtu.be/6NBdLNw4ULw Well worth 17mins of anyone's time.

There's a British bloke that looks like Ming the Merciless's brother. He does lots of space tech...watched a fair few from him.

I enjoy watching American and Canadian car and truck restoration/project channels. Lame, I know. They don't really do anything quite right, except in a couple of cases. They'll get things running most of the time, and that's it. But the machinery they get to play with is nice. Tractors, big cars and American trucks. Almost makes me want to live in the sticks, in rural Kentucky... Now that is shameful.
I also enjoy some cheesy electronic music from days past, from time to time. I'm not guilty about that, though. My choices are excellent. Just mentioning it because I think most people would feel guilty. However, I'm long past being a cool kid.

I loved Chris Bonington's Lakeland Rock series the first time around and have the book as well. I've been rewatching parts of this recently and was trying to find out if Pete Whillance was still climbing (he put up the E6 climb 'Incantations' on the Tophet Wall of Great Gable).

Chris Bonington got a lot of stick from the climbing community for his approach in earning a living from it at the time, but he brought it to the wider public in doing so. He's a remarkable man and if you haven't read his books then I highly recommend them.

I don’t make the time for much reading at the moment. Looking forward to reading more some day.

Do listen to quite a few podcasts. Climbing Gold is pretty cool.

As for C.B receiving stick… seems to be par the course in the climbing world.

I've recently got a wierd obsession with horology so I have been watching loads of clock and watch making videos. It's incredible how small a guy can make something just using precision hand tools or a small hundred year old lathe.

There's a watch that I have recently fell in love with, the A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst.

The dial is incredible, it's been hand crafted from a billet of rose gold where the finish on the face is hand-penned across it's whole surface. Look at the pictures of it and think about how insanely long it must have taken someone to hand-been hundreds of thousands of little dimples. Incredible.

I fell down a youtube rabbit hole of black Americans reacting to "Killing in the name of" by Rage Against the Machine for the first time.

There's a point when they actually start listening to the lyrics, have a moments indecision about if this is something they should push their auto-offended button about, listen again properly, then the penny drops.
