Chaps/Chapesses.

Fraid the Tuono has to go. I have only used it about 10 times this summer! Haven't got the time atm to ride it and it's a bike that deserves to be ridden. So if you know of anybody looking, heres the ad I will be placing....

Aprilia RSV Tuono
2003 (53 reg), 1200miles, excellent condition, FASH, Gianelli Exhaust with Removable Baffle (Inc Chip), PCIII, Larger Airbox, inlets and race filter, 15t front sprocket, Double Bubble Black Screen. All standard parts included. Dry Use only. Lack of use forces reluctant sale. £6000 ovno.
01752 253955, 07906772317, ianjwelsh@hotmail.com

As you probably know the exhaust, PCIII, airbox mods and filter add up to about £600 so £5400 for a really low mileage serviced bike doesn't seem bad!

Any questions give me a shout. Cheers

Mods don't add value.

I agree. Coloured bar ends, huggers, fairing bolt kits etc don't. An alarm/imm, PCIII with oversized airbox, filter and exhaust do add some. Only sensible modifications that most people will do anyway have been done. What I am saying is if you took all the tuning kit the bike would still be worth more than £5400! I would advertise it for £5700 without the PCIII airbox, exhaust etc.

I can understand what you're saying, but have to agree with Robby. Mods do not add value. I work at a bike shop and if someone sells us a bike, we go by the Glass's Guide price, irrespective whether it's got K&N filters, race cans, full system, etc. In fact you actually lose value if you don't have the original parts. Best thing you can do is put the bike back to standard.

This is a picture of my boss's Fireblade. It's a 1997 model, on a P plate. The modifications it has had done cost in excess of £11,000 to do. Does this mean it's up at £11,000? No. Does it mean it's at £8,000? No. Does it mean it's at £5,000? No. It's advertised for £3795, which is £295 higher than book price. The reason it's £295 above book price is mostly to do with the fact that he is in no rush to sell it, but the mods do have something to do with the price.

If £11,000's worth of mods mean an increase in say, £195 on the price, I think that your £600 worth of mods rarely affects the value of the bike.

So do I! BUT......Whats the first thing most ppl do when they buy a standard bike....get a race can?

And to go with that you usually need to sort the fuelling hence the PC111 and airbox mods.

So I sell someone the standard bike for £5700. They then start looking for a can etc on ebay and see that I have advertised a titanium Gianelli Exhaust, PC111, oversized airbox, larger inlets and a filter for £300 which seems a bargain considering the can is £300 new! So they buy that.....could have had it in one go, fitted and saved on the ebay postage Smile

Although, I will take your advice and put in the ad I will sell as standard for £5700 (inc the alarm and immobiliser) and then sell the rest seperate. Probably make more money!

Sorry but the bloke is trying to sell his bike not get into an argument with you lot about mods adding value to a bike. If you're not interested in the bike then keep quiet.

I might have some of the parts off you if you want to sell them...I was sort of half looking for a screen.

Not sure about the exhaust and engine mods as I kind of prefer the quiet stealth approach to my riding. Is it a loud exhaust, can you post a picture.

I've got an 04 Black Tuono, and I love it!

The exhaust has a removable baffle so it's not to bad when it's in. If I decid to sell the bits seperatley, I will let you know....
