Bugger.

As others have commented, a decent man who shared his troubles freely and gave good advice to others, kind enough to have PM'd me during my divorce.. Bugger.

I wasn't sure how to process this, I guy that I knew on here, but nowhere else and I'm upset. Obviously interacted with him on here and sad that I will never interact again. Odd the interweb thing.

I feel a bit bad posting this and I'm really not trying to be an insensitive dick but given his last few contributions to the 'where have you been on your bike today?' thread, I can't help wondering if alcohol may have been a factor.
I realise it's neither here nor there now anyway but I can't help wondering.

Fisty visited the scene today to put down some flowers and judging by the carnage he described incredibly inappropriate speed was involved.

I looked at the street quoted in the newspaper article on Streetview, and it appeared to be a quiet, short, residential cul-de-sac... and a single-vehicle accident? Couldn't get my head round it at all. Crying or Very sad

We talked (private message) about his personal issues after his separation but he never said if he had any other close family. Is there someone out there for him now?

My understanding is that the incident didn't occur in the cu-de- sac mentioned in the newspaper article. It occurred on Wyatts View as Garry was exiting the roundabout.
He came to rest outside No 39 Pilgrims Wharf.

I happened to be working close by today so I popped some flowers down.
There were several bunches there from im guessing family.

The note I left said “rest easy Garry, love your friends, BCF”

It was horrible.

Truly. Fucking horrible.

He would have been heading home.

Right hand bend before a roundabout.

It’s fairly obvious he was going too fast. Beyond that I know nothing else.

I am of the impression he was without a doubt going too fast with alcohol involved.

I was a close friend to Garry, we met through an extension I build for him and his ex-wife 4/5 years ago. Our friendship grew through me getting my first bike and having the same sense of humour. He was a funny bugger, I don't think many people could understand him. But he was a great bloke. Never ever done anything in malice or intent. He was just like anyone else, trying to make his way through the world and put a smile on someone else's face at the cost of his own.
I am so sad, I have lost someone I will never ever meet again. I fucking miss that man, he was truly someone special.
