Just had butchers at the YBR manual
Try this
Select neutral
turn on the ignition and pull the clutch lever in and hold it in as
you press the starter
If it starts but cuts out as you release the lever the side stand switch is
the fault

all this does is confirm the fault not fix it but at least it does tell you the
black/white wire fix will get it running so
all you need to do is cut it, strap it to ground and off you go

I’ve just had the bike on charge for 2 hours and with the battery pack still connected the bike has just started up perfectly fine. Do you think my battery is just weak and need replacing?

What the outcome of the test suggested by WD? HAVe you tried putting it in gear after starting it and riding away?

A flat battery may not be the fault of the battery, it could be a problem with the charging system but you wont really be able to test that without a multimeter.

There’s currently a storm going on so I can’t go out and test my bike I have got the battery charging and will go out and test ride it once this weather has packed in

not even had it for 2 weeks and it has broken down on me and wont start back up.

Does this mean it started, rode fine and then cut out on the journey? Or simply won’t start in the morning?

Do you have jump leads and access to another vehicle’s battery?

Cut out once in gear, or when a separate jump-start battery was disconnected, or simply stopped running in neutral?

Cut out when I put it into gear and now can’t get it started again even in neutral

Will it start when connected to another known, good vehicle battery (jump-started)?

If you can jump start from another battery and leave it connected, does it stall after 2 minutes?

I meant could you hear the fuel pump whirring between turning the key and pressing the start button?

However, popping would suggest fuel is getting through (could you smell petrol?) but not igniting, so we’re back to electrical issues.

Was it a private purchase, or from a dealer?

Also, will it continue to run for longer than the aforementioned 2 minutes if the fuel cap is open? Just wondering if there’s a vacuum building in the tank and preventing fuel from flowing out.
