I'm looking to speak to Royal Enfield owners for some market research. Specifically looking to find out:

- what they like about the brand

- what a Royal Enfield is like to ride

- how a RE bike differs to others

- what they think of the the brand's 'pure motorcycling philosophy'

Can offer a small reimbursement for a half hour phone or video call.

Can be an owner of any model but particularly interested in speaking to Himalayan owners.

Please let know if interested.

Probably not interested in mine when the philosophy was "Well, we still have the factory and tooling and a seemingly inexhaustible supply of cheap labour and low grade scrap metal. Most of the tooling isn't completely broken and worn out yet so we'll keep making them until someone makes us stop.".

Eventually someone made them stop. Something about emissions.

Made in Indiyah.

End of discussion.

If you live in that bit of Asia they might be OK.

If in Europe they're a Show Piece.

Wouldn't rely too heavily on it.
If it 5hat itsel on a sunny dust track. Not too bad.

If it craters on the M6 in the dark in a deluge.
Fakdatshite.

Since 2016 I have had one or more Royal Enfields in the fleet, mixed feelings, but this is my experience,
Classic 500, not a bad bike, ok for chugging around on, no serious problems and is ok for a second bike.
Himalayan 411, great bike, had a stalling issue which was fixed by fitting a booster plug, a good all round bike, reliable and pretty indestructible.
Interceptor 650, uncomfortable, poor brakes, poor suspension, spent a fortune on trying to make it lighter and better, (exhausts, brakes, suspension and so on), not a patch on a Bonneville.
Classic 350, heavy, underpowered, uncomfortable and drank oil, got rid of it after a year.
Bullet 500 B5, very happy with it, no problems, good second bike and has been reliable so far.

Royal Enfield are bringing in new models every year, very successful and popular, I think that they might be better on increasing quality rather than the mass production, but you pays yer money and takes yer chance.

I wouldn't have a Royal Enfield as a first bike, but an early one as a second bike run around is great.
For the price of a new Interceptor you can buy a good second hand Bonneville which would be a better more reliable bike.

I had the misfortune of using a courtesy bike from a triumph dealer years ago.
They loaned.me a bonny.

Shite.
Too much Barrow Market nasty components as OEM switches and most panels and fixtures were Ching Chong Or Buhd Buhd

Defo not a bike to use as comparison.

In think the triumph and Enfield are in alignment.

I have had five Royal Enfields and six Hinkley Triumphs, the first was a Trident 900 in 1998, followed by a Bonneville 790, an Adventurer 900, a T100 Bonneville and a Street Twin, last year I thought about which was the best one and bought a 2001 low mileage Bonneville 790, I enjoyed them all, but prefer the earlier models, never had a quality issue but do think the later models are mass produced to a price.

Here it is, great bike
