Don't know if this has been posted, can't see it. But the referrer that's being used to redirect ebay links doesn't work, and hasn't done for a couple of weeks now, making it rather annoying.

I've always found that if I have to click on a link to an ebay ad that i've got to disable my firewall, it's caused me endless amounts of problems. Plus it's a royal pain in the arse to keep on disabling the firewall.

If its Norton Internet Security your using just turn off the ad blocking thing instead of the whole firewall Wink.

Works fine here. Are you sure you don't have some kind of ad-blocking software installed? Is there an error message you get?

Ah, it'll be adblocking routines I activated with Spybot search and Destroy no doubt then, unless windows firewall blocks it too (doubtful, it couldn't block a toilet).

I was just about to come into this forum and make the same post.

It's very annoying.

It seems that all ebay links seem to get routed through a 3rd party group...

https://www.qksrv.net/click-1203837-9479574?loc=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.co.uk%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26category%3D11870%26item%3D5527492873%26rd%3D1%26ssPageName%3DWDVW%23ebayphotohosting

What is qksrv.net and why does this forum do that with ebay links?! It's only this forum and i'm 99% sure i don't have any spyware on my pc that would be doing that.

Tis crap for me personally and for all the other people that it doesn't work for in the way none of the ebay links on this site work.

Don't get me wrong, i understand why it's being done but they should look into compatibility a bit more.

Our company has an iptables based firewall blocking incoming traffic, don't see how this could possibly affect it unless they were trying to establish an incoming connection which they definitly shouldn't be doing. I have no ad-blocking software on my pc/network apart from sp2 and if it doesn't work with that they REALLY need to think about compatibility a bit more as most people with legit copies of xp will either have sp2 installed already or will do when the worries about the effects sp2 will have die down.

It will only not work if you have ad blockers.

It will only get blocked if you have ad blocking software at your end, it is not trying to hack your computer or anything else. Stop your ad blocking software and it will work. Thumbs Down

Ah just remembered i did used to have spybot installed and that sticks a load of entries in your windows hosts file that links lots of hosts to 127.0.0.1 it'll be that then i guess.

Don't suppose anyone knows the offending entries so i can just remove them? Rather than take out all of the entries. I've tried searching the file for qksrv but no luck.

It should be just qksrv.net and adfarm.mediaplex.com that you need to un-ad-block if you want the links to work.
