...Replica Razz

Ok, it's not quite finished yet, but since today was dry for once, and I had the motivation, I thought that I'd take some pictures of my current little project: rebuilding my b0rked CBR.

Basically, I've lobbed on a CBR1000RR front end (forks, yokes, calipers), but I still need to get some spacers made up to fit the wheel and axle properly...

The rear subframe needs replacing, and the fairings need repainting (the plastics you see are from Ebay - my original plastics kinda disintegrated in the crash).

(And yes, the front mudguard is missing... Rolling Eyes)

Looking a hell of a lot better than the last pictures I seem to recall seeing of it, did you buy all the front end new?

Good work! Thumbs Up

Right, here's an update:

Bike is currently in white primer, altough I reckon that it looks rather fetching as it is...alas, there's a race-rep-inspired paintjob in mind (sory)...but that won't happen for a while...

https://www.tin3d.com/downloads/front_cbr_white.jpg

https://www.tin3d.com/downloads/side_cbr_white.jpg

I just took it out for a quick ride around the block, and everything seemed fine...although I was a bit wary 'cos the front tire might have picked up a bit of oil from the garage floor, plus it's a bit greasy out on the roads at the moment...

Two things that definately need to be done - bleed the rear brake, and refit the hugger...

The indicators are just an after-thought at this stage cos I don't have the originals lying around...

Twas thinking more like the Ten Kate paintjob...basically yellow and black...and possibly making use of the vinyl cutter to make some parody "sponsors"...Wink

Agree. I was just trying to prove that bikes look good in yellow.

they wont to lose the mirrors..it would be an improvment.

Thing is with white is it would get really dirty really quicky, not that I mind a bit of dirt but... Rolling Eyes

If you chuck a whole load of race stickers/brands on it now, I recon it would look OK, and it would be cheap.

I've always thought a Jap flag kinda motiv on a bike would look cool.
Or the red sun, with the red sunbeams. Or just something red and white.

Rolling Eyes Ah I dunno probably look crap.

Good luck with it. I recon it'll look wicked even if you painted it cak brown Sick Thumbs Up , the bike is that nice.
