Just fitted it this afternoon. Perhaps not as loud as I would have liked but still sounds slightly better than the original.

That .3gp file in there was a small video of me revving it with the exhaust off - boy does that sound good! You need quicktime to play it on your PC

Sorry the photo's suck but I only have the phone camera

That sounds absolutely gorgeous! Really deep sound but it just screams when you rev it. Looks very smart too. Cool

Drooling

Lol, I cheated, in that video the exhaust and the link pipe aren't even connected. Just sounded soo good without it on. You can notice the exhaust smoke comming out vertically if you look closely hehe. Time to buy a proper race pipe with no sound dampening me thinks.

As for the new one, £120 and sounding slightly better than the original but no where near as loud as that video. Is is road legal, not sure but it's quieter than that of some of my mates bikes which have never had any problems.

Looks like a smiley face with that tactically placed Micron sticker...

I've got an E-marked Akra with removable baffle. I haven't really been out on the bike properly, so can't comment on the sound...but I have to keep saying that the Yoshi that I had previously was just amazing...evil.

I have also started the bike up without a silencer...in a closed garage...loud "Shocked"...but I didn't mind 'cos that was the first time that I started the bike since it was wiped off the road.

I think your going to have to start riding round without any can at all. Wink

Is there no way at all that you can remove the baffle? Even if it doesnt have 'removable' race baffle, surely it can be opened up, as if you needed to replace the baffle stuff. Confused

I rate it fun Smile

I can't even imagine what a further 40bhp would be like on its bigger brother. This one scares the shit out of me as is sometimes and I'm 14 stone.

Go for it mate, 2005's are just a scratch better, if you can get a 2004 for a couple of grand less, go for it. They still look the part too.

Only thing I think is important that the 2004 is missing is the extra layers of laquer on the fuel tank, mines starting to show fade patches where my legs dig in from holding on for my dear life.

1l in repsol colours is sexy though, might be my next bike in a few years me thinks.
