How much is a remote start system? And what about security? I have a mate who has one on his jag, but obviously a different ball game.

Also what are the pro's of it? Surely its a security risk and a half

Systems cost 30 squids off E-bay.

Pros:
Theres nothing cooler then flicking a switch and see your bike fire up wile you are walking to it or putting your leathers on. Or just for scaring people near it Cool

Cons:
You will have some wiring to do which can be tricky. you'll need a multimeter, and a wiring diagram of your bike for the job. Its not so hard if you have a lot of time, and do it one step each cable.

Security is good, The system offers full immobilisation of the bike, and has a built in sensor, which you can adjust the sensitivity of, and for a 30 pound alarm, id say its extremely sensitive Smile

If you need help, Post me a PM. Id be glad to try help.
Have a look under "Motorcycles and accessories" on E-bay.

I hope this is helpful Thumbs Up

How does remote start work? If you have to go and put the keys in anyway, then it strikes me as kind of pointless. Even if you didn't, there will always be a time where you forget that you left it in gear or something. Smile

Its called the side stand switch, if its in gear with side stand down, it wont run over Wink

Andy, the bikes being kitted up with a drip fed NOS bottle, made by Nitrous Systems, but not the gas form. Its more like a highly flammable fuel additive to raise octane and combustion % Smile

Embarassed

I guess I'm too used to riding on a bike where such things as starting in gear and moving off with the side stand down are left to the rider to worry about. None of this safety switch business... Laughing

(Yes, I regularly accidentally ride off with the sidestand down, only to be met with a loud clank as it bounces up 30 feet further along.) I tend to start it with the front brake and clutch pulled in as a matter of principle anyway, it seems like a good idea.

Yeh lol my side stand switch has cut cables and I rode away with it up. Not much of a risk as it just pings up.. but not really a good idea Smile
