G'day

For sale

My 2001 "Y" reg ER-5 in the BEST colour available FACT Wink

Good points

C1 model which means there was some styling improvements along with a few other things.

Only Just 15000 miles.

Will have 12 months tax and MOT (tax runs out end of month MOT end of july)

Good brakes.

Recent oil and filter change.

Recent chain and sprockets (about 2000 miles ago again)

Comes complete with "official F I International" 33hp restriction kit and certificate.

The bike is in Very good condition, and has NEVER let me down.

Bad points

When I bought the bike it had a slight prang (size of thumbnail) which was painted over in a darker blue, its barely noticable.

Common fault is that engine casings corrode a little. I have put some paint on mine to stop it getting worse.

Why do I want to sell the bike?

I fancy an upgrade to a bandit 600.

ANY QUESTIONS PM ME OR E-MAIL/MSN dodsi20000@hotmail.com

I can get pics of the entire bike.

I can delivar the bike within reason.

If you want more pics just ask.

Plenty of forum members have seen my bike (some have had the privilidge of riding it or On it) and They will tell you its a good bike.

£1250

As for price, i am looking for £1300.

The "book price" for the bike is £1709 On one book and on parkers.

https://www.parkers.co.uk/pricing/used_bike/valuation.aspx?deriv=5072&plate=66

https://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/WWW/bikes_search.asp?modelexact=1&make=KAWASAKI&model=ER-5&ccappr=500&min_pr=75&max_pr=&mileage=&agerange=&postcode=dl6+2rg&miles=1500&max_records=200&source=0&keywords=&photo=1&sort=3&search=SEARCH

Looking on bike trader, mine is a very reasonable price.

This is true.

The bike has been very well looked after and is indeed a nice bike all around. A good buy for anyone looking in the 500cc market. Thumbs Up

If you still have it I may come and have a look at it next month when I get paid. But I am only willing to stretch to about £1250.

Also what type of history do you have for the bike?

Hi,

Im at work so best be a quick reply.

The bike was serviced when I bought it at RPM motorcycles from where I purchased it.

All other servicing, oil changes etc (very regular) have been done at home as my dad is a mechanic and i have had a bad experiance with the local (one) bike place so wont deal with them.

As far as installments are concerned, I need to sell this bike in order to get a new one. so cant really do installments as I need the full amount to get a newer bike.

As for price, I wont discuss it in public But I am more than happy to barter a bit!

tally ho!

Oh and I must add, that blue stuff on my front forks...

Its that sticky back woven kevlar stuff, Its there to PROTECT the fork legs (which is does brilliantly well worth doing to your own bike) Not there to cover up pitting!

I am more than happy to take them off to show you if you wish to look at the bike.

Hi.

Whats the realistic top speed of an ER-5?

Would an ER-5 be a suitable bike for a 17 year old when they finish there test? Get used to weight , power , etc.?

Thanks.

realistic top speed of an ER-5 is about 90-100 restricted to 33hp and an indicated 115-120 full power.

The ER-5 is used for direct access because its very user friendly

and the power curve is very smooth but it does have a nice 6k kick where it can really pull.

I got it just after passing my test as I wanted to get used to the power and weight of a bigger bike.

Initially it scared me crapless, I could not comprehend ever using that much power when I first rode it. but very quickly you get used to it and respect it.

They make superb first bikes and I would reccomend one, even if you dont fancy this one.

any questions or advice wanted feel free it get in further contact.

Awww man, I can't believe you have gone down to £1250! I would have so much bought your ER instead of my GS - which has now cost me £1300 (including repair bills) for a bike 7 years older and in a heck of lot worse condition! Sad

If I had a penny to my name I would. Sadly I would only get about £800 for my bike (if I was lucky!).

So unless you're willing to take that.... Laughing
