Can't be bothered putting it on ebay yet...

As new, just opened it, hasn't been used at all. Comes with 2 x sata cables and fixing screws.

£45 all in, delivery included if you pay via paypal. I paid £50 for it. Its a maxtor something or other....7200rpm 8mb cache or something like that Confused If someone's interested, I'll hoik it out my machine and let you know what exactly it is.

Reason for sale? Transferring all my files would take FOREVER...Should really have thought about it more before buying it.

It's basically a quicker way of accessing your HD so you're less likely to get any performance issues. Most new computers have it these days. Quicker HD, better performance. Thumbs Up

It's in my machine simply because I was going to install windows on it, then decided...."nah, takes too long and my machine is fine without it"

So its been opened, just not used.

You'd have to check your motherboard if it can take sata.

Often abbreviated SATA or S-ATA, an evolution of the Parallel ATA physical storage interface. Serial ATA is a serial link -- a single cable with a minimum of four wires creates a point-to-point connection between devices. Transfer rates for Serial ATA begin at 150MBps. One of the main design advantages of Serial ATA is that the thinner serial cables facilitate more efficient airflow inside a form factor and also allow for smaller chassis designs. In contrast, IDE cables used in parallel ATA systems are bulkier than Serial ATA cables and can only extend to 40cm long, while Serial ATA cables can extend up to one meter.
Serial ATA supports all ATA and ATAPI devices.
Thumbs Up

or you could just say its faster Laughing
