Righto, a few times recently theres been the message "The server is currently busy. Please try again later" or sommat along those lines.

Well, on a few other forus I've been on theres been a 'quick-jump' drop down box at the bottom of the page. Like this:

https://img295.imageshack.us/img295/5820/fjump7jx.th.jpg

https://img295.imageshack.us/img295/9971/fjump27bo.th.jpg

Why would this reduce server load? Well, it would mean that peeps wouldnt have to go through the intermediate step of jumping to the forum index, which must use quite a bit of recources.

It would also be more convenient to surf the forums Razz

Any feedback Korn or Bendy? (You two seem to know the most about server-forum-load-witchcraft-stuff )

I know that on vbulletin the quick jump actually increases the server load. Smile

Just learn the forum ID numbers, and type them in the URL. Same as quick jump.

39 = Off Topic
1 = General Bike Chat
20 = Funny
33 = Workshop
etc etc.

Like this one for Off Topic, where I'm going now! Very Happy
