Been searching high and low for the wiring diagram for a 92 Yamaha Moto4 yfm 350 er, I purchased this thing off ebay and the previous owner had an electrical problem bad cdi or stator any way they kinda butchered the wiring harness up a little bit and tried putting the wrong parts on it I think from an 89 warrior. I need to now how many wires are actually carrying current to the cdi and how many volts/amps they're supposed to carry, right now I can only find one and it has very low current, seems to me that it would need higher current to send voltage to the coil, try to figure out if there are bad relays and if any thing can be jumpered to get more juice to the cdi, I've tried to repair the wiring harness the best I can tell, seems to be right, the starter turns the motor over, the lights all appear to work(head lights, neutral/reverse/oil temp). Thanks for any help, Confused

poorboy indeed. You'll be forever trying to sort that lot out!

CDI wiring isn't that complex. As a starting point, you should be able to identify the following wires. Of course, your bike might be different.

4 wires (2 pairs) coming from the stators. (Should be able to measure AC volts across these pairs with engine spinning)
1 wire going to the pickup
1 wire going to the coil
1 wire going to the kill switch
(maybe) 1 wire going to sidestand switch
(maybe) 1 wire going to clutch switch

On the coil look for:
12V supply wire (through ignition)
The wire from the CDI.

Best of luck!

fin.
