Well done - and a great big THANKYOU - to Korn and the admins.

These dudes do a thankless task, moderating the bitchy posts, coming up with cool ideas for the site and most importantly, they run the entire site at no financial gain whatsoever. I'm impressed with the recent work on the forum, all the new sections, designed to fit the needs of the different members on the site (Auntie BCF for Gammaman and Killa for example)...

Who's with me in saying a big thankyou to KoRn and Co. for continuing to provide this community to us free of charge?

Thumbs Up Karma Much karma and good vibes to Korn Bendy and co Thumbs Up

Not so sure, i have been looking a the forum for a couple of hours now and i really get the feeling a things being segregated to much.
And this is also the feeling i am getting from a lot of the "old school" members who have been posting their "we need a cull" "get rid of new members" "we are the real members not new people " attitudes of we have been here longer than you and this general superior feeling that has been thrown around has led me to believe this change has only been done to try and make new members feel a little less involved and old members get to feel like the top of the pile once again.

I feel in the long run this change will only benefit the older members of the forum and discourage new members.

I also feel this change has been done for this sole purpose of pleasing the oldschool crew.

Just my thoughts and i hope i,m wrong in what i feel has gone on here over the last few days.

Are you really such a bad person that you see the worst in everybody? Rolling Eyes

I've been going from green to gold and back longer than you've been on the forum (in your current incarnation) Smile, and that's after gold karma was invented, which happened a fair while after 2003.
I really don't care about karma, I just ccare about twits like you spoiling my bcf experience Smile.

The task they choose to do?

No offence, I've met a couple of the mods and liked them but I refuse to kiss their ar$es because they do it. Rolling Eyes They could quit tomorrow if they wanted to.

Perhaps they could. I could quit my job tomorrow if I wanted but I don't because I feel I have a responsibility to my colleagues (and no that is not the main reason). Maybe it's the same thing holding the site togeether. Or maybe, just maybe, Korn's proud of something he's worked hard at setting up and he wants to see it continue to thrive.

You are also prime candidate material for that section, more-so than the others sometimes.

I think the whole point of the change is to attract new members... new members who want to talk about bikes anyway.

Don't agree with that mate, us old people don't like change you know. Laughing

As for new people coming and older members wanting rid of them I don't feel thats the case either.
There are some members that need to be culled - as in the ones who have joined up and never actually posted or visit anymore - a while ago this happened as school kids realised they could use the pm function of the forum without actually really been a "proper" member if you will.

But new members are always welcome in my eyes, its just the knob ends who come in and try to hard almost or suddenly think they have the right to slag off members when they ask for genuine help. in fact that last bit applys to older members as well.

Either way, the change here has happened, the forum will always have its good and bad people and end of the day this isn't my forum, I don't own it so Korn can do what he pleases with it and if I dont like it (or anyone else for that matter) the log out button is in the top right and don't let the screen refresh hit you on the way out.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
