Just sorted through a few pictures from today, so here's a few pictures of G and Jon from today - not many of Jon 'cos he jumped off after a lap or so of their first race, whilst leading! Shocked Anyway, I'll let some of the wearier looking people who were there all weekend fill in the race report details.

So it was you I saw walking past the new chicane lugging camera stuff around today then, was going to shout you but that meant getting out of the car and risking looking silly if I was mistaken and it wasn't you.

Probably, if it was mid-afternoon and I was heading back towards the pits (with oversized bag trying to put my back out). Laughing

Yeah it was you then, good pics btw, though you should've stayed by the new chicane and got some pics of bikes on fire with someone trapped underneath it, most exciting.

People were lobbing their bikes down the road at Edwinas like they were getting paid to do it. Keith got a picture of one of the 125s running someone over! Shocked

Hi

Parking on track was a bitch:-

https://www.alfa-pages.co.uk/TempPicture/Parking.jpg

Good job the superteens are young and flexible.

https://www.alfa-pages.co.uk/TempPicture/YoungAndFlexible.jpg

but despite the weather some people showed real dedication to keeping the throttle open.

https://www.alfa-pages.co.uk/TempPicture/Dedication.jpg

and G-bus as the bus stop

https://www.alfa-pages.co.uk/TempPicture/G-Bus.jpg

To be honest I was using a new camera this weekend, and I am not happy with the results. Images are far too soft.

All the best

Keith

You can't miss Jay. Normally he's wearing a big silly hat.

Either that or funnily enough he looks like his avatar, just happier.

When he wears the hat he actually has 'blind-spots'.

If you walk next to him slightly behind he can't see you at all.

I'll post it here as I was a bit slow last night putting anything up.

MIXED FORTUNES FOR GIFFOULD AT MALLORY PARK

Calcot Motorbike racer Dave Giffould took a mixed round of results in the latest BMCRC Clubman Mini-Twin event at Mallory Park in Leicestershire at the weekend.

On Sunday, in the opening event of four over the course of the weekend, the Suzuki SV650 rider started from 10th on the grid. After a hard fought battle throughout the race he eventually crossed the line in the same place, after initially making up places then dropping back.

In the second race he worked his way up to seventh place at the chequered flag, giving him an excellent chance to go for a podium result on day two of the meeting.

However, things didn’t quite go according to plan on the Bank Holiday Monday as just before the start of the first race he opted to change to wet weather tyres as the heavens opened. A slight delay in getting the bike fully sorted meant that he was late to the collecting area and was forced to start from the pit-lane instead of his allotted grid position.

A fantastic ride in very slippery conditions allowed Dave to move swiftly up the order and break into the top ten in just eight laps, finishing in ninth place from 24 starters.

Another late call, this time for dry tyres, just before the final event proved to be an inspired choice. From his top ten starting position he passed a good number of other riders, some of whom had decided on wet weather tyres, which offered no grip on the dry track.

As he moved into fourth place and began to catch the first podium spot the race was red-flagged, meaning he will have to wait another few weeks before aiming for the silverware again. However, an upbeat Giffould was happy with his pace over the weekend after initially being concerned about a lack of track knowledge.

“I’m pleased to some extent with the results as it proved I had the pace to run at the front,” he said. “I said to myself before the weekend started that I wanted to take it easy, keep the bike in one piece and see where it got me,” he added.

“The delay with the tyres was really unfortunate, but it was the right thing to do as if I’d stayed on the dry weather tyres I would either have fallen or dropped right back down the order anyway. I wasn’t the only rider to make a late call either,” he said.

Dave now has a four week break before his next event, this time a little further away, at the Croix En Ternois circuit in Northern France.

“I’m really looking forward to the race at Croix,” said Dave. “It will certainly be a different experience and it’s another new circuit for me to learn, which will add to the challenge. But, I still hope to bring back my first trophy of the season from there too,” he added.

Jon did good, Jon did really good. Saturday in each race he got 3rd overall and 1st place rookie, so that'll be four trophies then. Mr. Green

Sunday... as Saturday went so well we decided to just pack up and go home. Any rumours about Jon falling off or going out in the dry with wet tyres are nothing more than rumours. Razz

I write Jon's report up and have posted the last two, I just don't get to do it as quick. Should be up tonight.

Short version - 4 Races - 4 Trophies, one crash, one bad tyre choice.
