Right heres the deal,

Me and Groovearmada are thinking of doing a track day. the closest track to us is Snetterton but the companies that do those days (Focused Events & Hottrax) only allow full licences that are not restricted by the 2 year 33bhp restriction period.

So we need to know if there is another local track to us that will allow us to hire bikes and do the track day.

We are located in Suffolk And Essex.

Any help would be very very much appreciated.

Thanks

It's not the trackday companies stopping you, it's the circuit. Motorsport Vision circuits (Cadwell, Brands, Snetterton, Oulton Park) don't allow restricted licences on their trackdays.
Try somewhere like Mallory Park with No Limits, you should be fine with that!

You'll usually find that trackday operators don't inspect your driving licences very carefully when you sign on. Last few places I've been haven't even checked to see if I had bike entitlement.

Yokogeri just did a trackday at Snetterton on a restricted licence and didn't have a problem.

Just checked the hottrax site, Lydden is ok with a restricted licence, as is Silverstone.

Lydden's close to you, IIRC Groove is in Braintree.

Just about an hour maybe hour and a half.

Silverstone's not ages away, you can do that on a restricted licence. You can always hire bikes, HOTTRAX has bikes for hire. It costs a pretty penny though, and I certainly wouldn't recommend taking a 125 round there.

Might be ok at lydden though as long as you're happy to throw it around with the best of em.

Hiring an ex virgin cup R6 comes with a £500 excess should you bin it,

I think I'd struggle to do that monetary value in damage to my GPZ.

I intend on doing either cadwell or Mallory on my GPZ with the washers in this summer,

Will keep an eye on this thread.

If mallory is too far you could always pitch a tent in my back garden not too far from mallory if that's your track of choice?

Not a big sports bike, had a little go on a 600 though before, i've also had over 2 years experience on a bike.
