Thank's people, really helped.

Anyone gone from a 1st gen R6 to one of these? I ask because the 6 didn't have no power under 6k, you would have to double accelerate sometimes to get power (Maybe it was just mine) no probloms above 6k but below it was gutless, mainly in 3rd gear there would be no power then suddenly it would kick in if you shut the throttle off, which isn't right.

Wouldn't say it was a smooth ride because of the problems they have with the gears, loud clunky gearbox upto 2nd gear & you can hear the gears rattling which didn't sound healthy. I just want a fast, smooth ride that won't lag.

Didn't have a chance to learn how to ride fast & corner but i'm guessing there about the same these sports bikes, although my Bandit seems to like cornering more then the R6??

I've ridden a 99 r6 quite a bit.
First off, 6000 rpm is just over 1/3rpm.
Do the same thing in third gear on most bikes and they won't pull very well.

However it shouldn't kick in you shut the throttle off - that would suggest there's something wrong.
Actually, just thought, were you holding the throttle wide open? You need to gradually pull it open when accelerating from a fairly low gear usually.

If a bandit 'liked' cornering more than the R6, then I'd be even more worried!
Although, it may have been something like bad positioning (see my stupid-long 675 posts for my thoughts on that).

I always used to gradually let the throttle out, that's when somtimes it would bog down like i was in 6th gear, then when i shut/opened the throttle it would spring to life, which i'm guessing would be somthing to do with the bike needing a clean in the engine?

It probably is my positioning, i don't know how to corner but the Bandit just seems to be smoother, maybe it's the slow speed. Smile

Thanks.

Hi
Im looking at getting a supersport 600, so far have ridden the dayatona 675, gixxer 6, Ducatti 749, and getting a test ride on a CBR600RR tomorrow, and possibly a go on an r6 soon at some point (all 2006 models), will be doing a write up soon Smile

So far the 675 is winning, but is a bit pricy.

Luke

Its nice to see that some people actually are prepared to ride and test other bikes rather than the usual Jap few.

The Triumph does look the better, after the Duke of course Laughing

The jap bikes are the only ones that really catch my eye, just always liked the pure sportsbike look. Although i wouldn't say no to a Triumph speed triple..

I have to admit at the moment that there are nt many bikes available that catch my eye and would be willing to shed out all that cash on them.
