"When I was a lad, we used to tie the magneto on with string and our riding jackets were made of tweed with two newspapers inside worn across the chest." That last bit is true in my case. I really wore two newspapers inside my jacket and made a 300 mile ride twice every six weeks winter and summer. The jacket wasn't made of tweed though - it was a cotton combat jacket.
