I sold my CG. The strikethrough in my sig makes it look like it was a 1900 model! Twas actually from 1988. Bless it. I sold it to a guy who said 'that's when I was born'! Bless him.
I came off the GPZ leaving a roundabout in the wet . The insurance company paid out because they said it was uneconomical to repair (fine by me, I got more than I paid for it). I was fine by the way .
Bought a clean VFR 800 that was local to me. Supreme bike. [time passes!] Unfortunately I wrote that off as well (slip road had a tighter bend than I was prepared for - hit the kerb and went down). I was fine again (bless the gear).
This was probably my ideal bike (or the 750), and I am gutted that I binned it. I'll get another one day, when I can afford it and feel more comfortable lumping heavy bikes round tight bends (and see below re SO!)
When insurance paid out, my other half wouldn't let me get another big bike so I got this little number. A fun bike actually: nippy (didn't take long to get to 70 and would hit 80 every now and again), cheap as chips, and I don't regret it!
After a while on the CB I started to hanker after a more powerful machine, and in the end eBay addiction got the better of me and I bought this. Very low miles for a 98 bike, but otherwise in OK to good condition. So far it does have something over the VFR (it's shorter, thinner, and lighter whilst still feeling 'planted'), although the engine is a bit vibey. Had my first 'Offside exhaust excessively noisy' MOT advisory !
I spent a lot of time commuting on this bike in all weathers.
I then acquired for the princely sum of fifty pounds, a Honda C70 E (Cub) that had been waiting patiently for about a decade in someones shed / garden. This was for the fun of doing it up and buzzing about. I hope to do a full-engine strip this winter.
