MarJay's Public Bio
Hi, My name is Mark and I'm a Bikeoholic!

I have a 2008 Triumph Street Triple R as my fun bike. The Triumph is an awesomely capable machine. Fast, light and sweet handling. Good if you want pure adrenaline.

My project bike is a Kawasaki KR1S. I've always had at least one two stroke sports bike ever since I rode a mates TZR250 2MA back in 2005. I suppose it harks back to my first ever bike, an NS125R. The KR1S is fast, frenetic and amazing fun although I've not had it out yet this year. It recently threw it's ring pegs out of the exhaust ports, so it needs a fair bit of work.

I recently bought myself a 2008 CBR600RR track bike which is also road legal. I've done about 8 trackdays on it so far, and it's amazing, but I need to give it some TLC over winter as the brakes are weak and it's now leaking oil. Even so I thoroughly reccomend one as a track bike, especially if you're small in stature.

My latest bike is a VFR800Fi-Y which is my work commuter. It's... alright actually, better than I expected but it needs a fair bit of TLC to make it right. It's ideal for what I want it for, but I wouldn't choose it as a 'fun' bike. Maybe if I could only have one vehicle it would be this, but for long distance commuting it's good.

I love solo riding and trackdays, and have been known to participate in the odd ride-out. All the way back in July 2005 I went touring in Scotland (with Bendy and Robby) and I enjoyed every minute. Since then I've been to wales a couple of times with my other half, and that has been great fun so I think touring is something I'll get back into, especially as I now have the VFR.

Recently I have got into pitbike racing and raced for a couple of years in the Matchams Pitbike series. I've knocked this on the head in favour of trackdays for the time being, but I might go back to it (now known as the Clay Pigeon Pitbike Series).

I have a strong interest in engineering and I'm a bit of a bike nerd so I might have a go at answering your technical questions too - if I can be bothered! Very Happy

My previous bikes have included an NS125R, a VFR400 NC21, an SV650S, a Triumph Daytona 955i, two Triumph TT600's a Yamaha TZR250, a Buell XB12R, a VFR400 NC30, a Suzuki RGV250, a Kawasaki KE100, a Honda Fireblade 954, a GasGas Pampera 250, A Triumph Speed Four, 2x RD350YPVSs a RD350LC, another SV650S, a Buell XB12S Lightning, an MZ ETZ 301 Saxon Fun, a Yamaha FZR400RR, a Stomp YX140 Pitbike, and a Buell XB12R (the second one)

I work in London for a company involved in Broadcasting.

I live near Basingstoke and am originally from Reading.

As for music, I like Rock and Metal and electronic dance music of some types. My two favourite bands/acts are Iron Maiden and The Prodigy.
