I am currently 41, married, with the step-children all at university and soon to move on to pastures new.
This seemed like an ideal opportunity to have a midlife crisis. As I am generally happy in my life and marriage, an affair or anything likely to get too messy was right out the the question. Therefore, my mind turned back to bikes.
I got rid of my last bike when I was 21 because I lived with a girl in a flat and I was getting fed up of the limited amount I could get in my topbox. Shoving loaves of bread down your leather jacket gets old pretty quick, so, as a temporary measure, I sold the bike and bought a car.
The car was, in fact, much more useful for doing the shopping and I would only be without a bike temporarily.
Temporarily...
Loving my new bike, although I am terrible at riding it at the minute, and my long-suffering other half has jumped onto the 'bikewagon' enthusiastically.
Although we've not been out in the rain yet !!
