Totally my fault, I wasn't paying attention. Too tight a bend, which was signed.

Came around too fast, panicked as cars queing a head, ended up braking, low siding it. crash bung did the job for a bit, then bike hit the curb and crashed the engine casing dumping the oil.

Going, to need a new engine casing, mirror, crash bung and some fairing.

Had to wait 2.5 hours for recovery.

Got some road rash too. Even though wearing leathers. My sleeve got some how rolled up as I slid. My top of my legs got hurt also. (NB 2 part leathers). Wrist sore don't think broken, but hurts.

Here's the bike.

Going to go to dealers tomorrow and order engine casing and take it from there.

(It was my first ride on the Z since September, but I do ride the ER most days.) My Z was my pride and joy, washed after every ride, well maintained etc. Ahhh well, could have been much much worse.

But it could have been the curb that bent it.

Just had a bath, feck me water and road rash don't mix.

It was you own inexperienced fault. Why not accept it?

You haven't ridden all winter, and think you can hoon around (Well wobble) like you did last year.

It doean't work like that, go back to your desk mate until the roads have cleared and you can scream around in first gear like the rest of the cunts do.

Uh he rode his er6 through the winter dickhead

Thanks for all the comments guys. Had an X-ray today and hand is not broken.

Can't believe I got away from it so well. I know the bikes needs work, but at least I'm okay.

I managed to walk the 4 miles home from hospital also today because of it being such a nice day.

Tried to start work on the bike, but hand just too sore to be of any use.

Sorry to hear about your off, glad your not too badly injured.

I lost my Z last year on a roundabout (did the opposite side to you), did the engine casing cover as it hit the kerb. What we didnt realise until we had replaced the broken bits and filled back up with oil was that the engine block was cracked out of sight under the bike (the rear mounting bolts are fixed with no give). We then had to strip the bike right down and get the engine block welded - apparently it is something that happens to the Z's a lot when they go down on their sides and hit a kerb Shocked

May be worth a closer look under the bike (behind the rear engine mounting bolts to check if there are any cracks) before you do the rest of the work getting the bike back on the road. If you do want more info on this PM me and i will get my husband to reply with the relevant info as he worked on my bike for me.

Hopefully your engine block wil be fine and not have the same problem. We actually bought a spare engine in case mine wasnt fixable as i love the bike that much.
