He also reveals how he was attracted to the force by a bobby sleeping on the job.

Recalling how he had just been dumped by a girlfriend and was cycling in the rain past a police car, he says: "As I cycled past in the rain thinking I wasn't enjoying my life much I saw there was a police officer in the car.

"And he was lying flat on the driver's seat with his hat over his eyes clearly fast asleep...and I though 'I can do that job,' just like that literally, there and then."

Well, it's good to know he's motivated by the purest of intentions.

Hi

Interesting article about Brumstroms way of saying something and then denying it, including about his retirement:-

Love his latest remove the word "police" plan:

"Stand Still! Armed Heddlu!"

Yeah, that'll work...

Maybe the Alzheimer's is progressing, and he doesn't think he'll be able to remember anything he says by December 2009.

I read a story (allbeit it a fake one) about him disappearing up his own asshole not so long ago, maybe that's what he's planning to do, and just forgot that he'd told everyone already.

If a vehicle with blue flashing lights and the word heddlu on it came up behind you, would you need to pull over and stop for it?
If it had Police on then you would but Haddlu?

Confused What the cocking hell are you talking about? I live near Cardiff and yes, funnily enough, we do stop for cars that have the word "Heddlu" on them.

So when you're in Europe, and the Polizei, Gendarmerie or Rendörség come after you with flashing blue lights you'd just ignore them would you?
