I've bought a KLX Cradle frame for my Pit bike. It is almost a direct replacement for my current frame, But its got a longer headstock tube, And a Cradle for the engine.

So rather than it being a 2 mount, With the foot peg rail hanging off the bottom of the engine on the other 4 mounts.

It's a 6 mount. And the foot pegs bolt to the frame.

It wont be changing the appearance of the bike.

The frame is Brand new, I have a receipt for it, It's also got a Frame number on the headstock, Just like my road legal frame.

Can I contact the DVLA and just change the frame Number on my V5? Or is there more to it than that?

the frame is the bike. what you basically have is a new bike with your old engine in it.
it means registering the frame, new numberplate, and changing the bike on your insurance, tax, MOT etc.

Ignore this.

Is the No. on the new frame the same as the old?

Well I doubt it will have the same frame number as my current frame.
The frame is not a road legal frame, Its a KLX Cradle off road frame. But it does have a Frame number on the headstock.

I havnt got it yet, So cant give you any more info. Once it arrives I can get the number.

As for the engine, Thats not even the original one. I need to change that with the DVLA and my insurance actually. Dunno how to go about that either! Laughing

If its a brand new frame it won't have a frame No. so you get your No. stamped on it by Kawasaki.

Right got ya.

Its not actually a Genuine Kwaka frame by the way. By KLX Cradle. I meant its an American SDG Frame. For KLX Style bikes, With CRF Engine mounts.

I've a feeling it will be stamped.

Its 100x better than my frame I've currently got. I'm doing Landsend to John O'Groats on it this year, Stopping at some MX tracks along the way.

I've already got my Billet MX wheels and tyres built up. Just need a strong frame now so I dont rip my foot pegs out when I jump it. Smile
