There I was settling down for the night at 9 ish with a can of larger when Cog Head burst through the front door shouting Help, help i've got petrol leaking out all over the place!
If you remember last week his clutch cable went, new one arrives and is promptly fitted, back on the road, yes!
When fitting the new cable he has dislodged the small pipe that comes from the bottom of the carburettor and goes presumably to the nipple a bit higher on the carb, can anyone tell us if thats the correct postmortem or is there something a bit more complicated than that. The bike is a Rieju RS2 50cc race replica (2 smoker)

If it is coming right from the bottom of the float bowl, it is an overflow pipe.

This is telling you that the float/needle valve assembly isn't functioning properly leading to too high a level of fuel in the float bowl (coming out of the overflow prevents it filling your crankcase with petrol)

Now. Simple things first. Just above the pipe you will see a brass screw, this is a drain screw so make sure it hasn't come loose.

Next give the side of the carb a few sharp raps with a rubber/nylon hammer. The floats sometimes stick and this can free them off (you will be able to tell because the fuel will stop pishing out)..

Failing that it is either a bit of muck in the needle valve, a damaged valve seat, a leaky float or the float height has somehow been mysteriously changed. You will need to take the carb off to check all of these.

If it only does it sometimes then its almost certainly sticky floats. Sharp tap with something not too solid (soft faced mallet for exapmle) will do it. If it keeps happening then read the rest of stinkwheels post. Carbs are not to difficult to take apart, just make sure everything is very very clean when you put it back together

i fitted me exhaust and went for a ride...as you do...and WOW Twisted Evil Twisted Evil it was crazy it flys i loved it, went for a blast arround my area and on the duel carrigeway, not a clue what speed i was doing, spedo said i was going about oil lamp Mph Laughing
i went to meet a m8 and went to go get another m8, and on the way back from his, my freekin throttle cable snapped, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Sad ...not a happy bunny to say the least...had to push it back to my house which is about a mile or so, which wasn't too bad...so then now i need

This is why its generally recommended that you spend your cash on keeping a vehicle running properly and being properly serviced and maintained first, not spending it on "tuning" parts and the rest of the vehicle breaking.
