I've been practicing lucid dreaming for almost a year now, I can do it almost everytime I try, But go through periods of a few weeks when I can't do it at all.
The things I normally do are as follows:
Sleep further up the pillow than normal, As in I put part of my shoulders on the pillow too.
Sleep with the TV on, And turn the volume up a few more notches than I would normally have it at.
The one that seems to work best for me along with the above is to trap my arms on the bars at the side of the bed or lie on them, I think this works because when you actually move in your sleep it wakes you up, Trapping them probably recuces the amount of times I wake up.
Good luck and don't try to do it too much or it gets frustrating and you won't be able to do it!
One thing that always makes me come out of the lucid dream is when I say or think 'This is a lucid dream' whilst i'm dreaming. Wakes me up instantly.
Since i've started practicing this I get sleep paralysis quite a lot, It can be scary at times but the best thing to do if you actually get sleep paralysis is to try and move or shake your body.
Just keep practicing, It can take ages to get it properly. I seem to have the same powers in each dream, Which is a weird one, I can swim in air. You can do most things you want to if you really think in your head you can actually do them.
EDIT: Being able to do it for longer periods of time just comes with experience of doing it I found. |

Always been able to do it in about 90% of my dreams, best thing is when the dream doesnt go the way you want it to so I simple rewind a bit and change a decision, a bit loke those books you used to read where you turn to a page number based on what decision you make in the story.
No routine followed to go to sleep, just always seem to know I am in a dream. Best entertainment you can get ____________________ Fallen Angel "Nae sniffing my seat now!!!!! "

I don't get what the hell your on about, surely its not really a dream, if you know whats going on?
If a lucid dream is where you control whats happening in a dream, I can do that as thats what happens when you day dream
Or as your waking up in the morning, you get that stage of sleep where you know your awake but close your eyes and you can have a dream instantly? (I get this alot, its always the same thing, a naked woman handing me a tube of smaties at a fairground)
can someone explain fully what the hell your talking about ____________________ Harley XR1200 |

I do this all the time, every night, does my head in if anything, semi-asleep, know im dreaming, starts more of a day dream whilst awake but can still control what happens in the dream and also re-wind to make different choices etc... didn't think it had a name or anything, just thought it was day dreaming! but at night whilst trying to get to sleep.
Sometimes I wake up thinking it really happened then get dissapointed that I didn't win the lottery or whatever
I've also woken up because someones called me in the dream, got out of bed before realising I was dreaming and its actually 4 in the morning... ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

I don't really get false awakenings, but i've had a few of them. It's really annoying when you wake up and after a few mins you realise it didn't actually happen, Makes me laugh
For people who can't Lucid dream give this a go: https://www.dreamviews.com/community/showthread.php?t=42271
But be warned it can be scary the first few times and you can hallucinate, Especially if you take MDMA regularly, Infact it was too much MDMA that got me interested in lucid dreaming as it caused me to get sleep paralysis almost every night, I didn't have a clue what was happening to me so I googled it and read up on it and from there read about lucid dreaming.
I can bet anyone who has took ecstasy/mdma for a few weekends in a row has experienced sleep paralysis and just not known what it is. (I'm not sure if it's the MDMA or the shite its cut with that gives you sleep paralysis)
It's a lot more pleasant when you are aware that you're about to send your body to sleep but keep your mind awake.
Have fun ,and if you get scared once you actually do it, Try and shake your body and roll over. You won't be able to move but it should wake you up if you do it violently enough. |

I've done it a few times before, but didn't know it was called lucid dreaming until now. But only two or three times.
In terms of false awakenings, I was asleep last night and someone text me at midnight. I then checked my credit and I had less than a dollar. Then suddenly I was with someone, who I'm not gonna see until next month. Obviously that bit was a dream. But I actually did get the text, but never checked my credit in RL because I still have a fair amount of credit left.
That dream last night was awesome. I can't remember it now. I just know that it was cool because I was disappointed when I woke up.
As an aside, why do people always wake me up just as my dream is getting to the good bit? Then I try desperately to go back to sleep and get it back which of course doesn't work and I have then missed out on dream-style sexy sex.
Oh yeah and I used to get sleep paralysis a lot. And I mean a lot. It was bloody scary the first few times, until I did some research on it and just kept telling myself it'll pass soon and not to panic. Don't get it as much any more. ____________________ The tiger who came for a pint |
