Eharmony is actually a dating site that REJECTS people based on the uber long psychological profile though. There have been several threads on other forums which specifically state this as the 30+ page psychological profile clears a lot of the chaff away. It is supposed to have double asking in a positive and negative way so it catches out liars.

Consequently Eharmony has more women than men, while conventional sites have as many as 25:1 imbalance.

Hardly I've been openly critical of dating sites for years, esp when somebody on BCF set one up, plenty more fish or something as a copy of the other one.

We discuss it on HPC last night was old scrapper birds and dellusions.

I've mad a couple of dating sites, not for myself but for clients as a web developer. All of them required me to sign up to the major sites to evaluate how theirs worked and stuff. Honestly there are none that are any good. They are all full of undesirable men and as a result fail to attract any women. Most prune their members where possible and select who appears on the front page to make the site appear full of hot girls. A lot create fake members, usually women in the hope of enticing in more and more guys. Basically dating sites are like a facebook group populated entirely by men asking "Where all the pussy at?!" and should be avoided at all costs.

eHarmony tries to market itself as being more upmarket, claiming to be a 'relationships site' which apparently attracts women, but it uses personality characteristic emphasis to make it seem like it's less about looks. This does attract more women, but the truth is that for guys, it IS all about looks so the few that can bother to get through all the sign up crap are usually disappointed.

Not that any of the sites i made were any less shit or gimmicky, in fact they were much much worse, so much so that i'm too embarrassed to admit to having had anything to do with them.

Generally these sites are used buy guys too poor or ashamed to get a prostitute, thats the level that women think the guys are at and the sites reflect this.

What about those sites like adultfriendfinder/sexsearch/whatever, surely they cater to those who just want to empty their plums and are full of slags?

Annoying though it might be, I did save £300 via Go Compare when renewing my insurance for the Hornet 600, that was after spending days plowing through the more popular sites. If it hadn't have been for that annoying advert I probably wouldn't have thought of or bothered to look on there, so it kinda works really.

I had a friend who went mental with match.com. At one point he had dates on 4 or 5 consecutive nights, he didn't know whether he was coming (haw haw) or going and was beginning to mix names up.

We told him to stop because he was going to end up Ironsiding himself. His profile picture was him in his Special Constable uniform. I think he now uses that uniform dating site. He's quite cynical though, he is looking for a relationship (he's that type) but he's prepared to mount any and everything on the way.

I set up a free account on match.com for myself, I didn't meet anyone and got few enough replies. One I did get though was from my next door neighbour at the time. If I said this person had a body like a burst couch and a face like a skelped arse, I'd still be over selling.

I'm no oil painting (no honestly, I can admit that. Wink ) But even I have to draw a line somewhere... Unless I've had a drink then all bets are off.

Wink

PS: Its those mad eyed women in the Cillit Bang or Febreze adverts that give me the creeps. Standing in your own kitchen wondering how you'll get that 'unidentifiable' stain out of a towel when some boggled-eyed grinning mannequin in a day-glo pink body warmer appears at your shoulder; I'd hit the roof!

Barry Scott is played by an actor. I don't understand. Why turn up saying "I'm Barry Scott" when you're not and we don't even know who Barry Scott is anyway. Just admit you're Neil Burgess.

Thinking about it though, if I was going to just walk into some woman's kitchen I'd probably use a pseudonym too.

I've seen a few dating sections within forums, seems like a good way. One i saw was on an exercise forum.

At least then you could scan through the potential dating partners posts & gather a little info if they've been a member for a few years.

Obviously 'certain' members would need to edit their posts if BCF had one.

I am not a fan of on-line-dating. But was recommended this site so thought what the heck.

I think you have to 'use' it as much as you can; Talk too an set up as many dates as you can. I didn't!

I called and asked for money back (I regretted spending £60). . . .They gave me 50% back and kept the 3 month term. Which was pretty decent of them as the site itself is quite good if you don't mind being sent matches rather than searching for your own.

I did meet one guy. . . 6 times. Not seen him for a month now. He says he really wants to see me but then doesn't bother contacting me or making time so he can get shoved!

That's the last out of two short goes at on-line-dating for me.

I think its ok if you just want sex. But the local bar is cheaper Smile

Ha ha reminds me...

On my first on-line-dating attempt (dating direct), I met one chap, nice enough, but something I wasn't sure of but could not put my finger on....

Anyway, he told me he met a girls that was SO un-like her pictures, he made an excuse to go to the bathroom and left via the loo windows..

Hahaha

I was trying to remember which dating site was which and had which features when i hatched an evil plan. I couldn't remember my login, so why not create a new one and upload some pictures of a sexy girl and see how many guys pester me. Obviously if i signed up as a guy i would get ZERO attention. Within about 10 minutes of signing up i had 200+ profiles views and 12 emails.

Time to see just how desperate people on these sites are! Changed sexual orientation to lesbian. Another hour later at it was up to 500 views and 20 emails. ALL were from guys, nothing from women despite me looking absolutely stunning. That's how desperate the guys are, they are hitting on a LESBIAN. Laughing

THIS is why women don't use dating sites. They know they will probably get spammed with a million requests from desperate guys they will have to sift through, they might even pick up a stalker or 2 Laughing

Im sure that's partly it. But you have to remember, most women are not stunning.

Just think we are a little more realistic about who is in our league...
I know myself I got fed up with very unattractive men contacting me.

Nice of him to tell you that shortly before he left, via the bathroom window.

Instead he rammed his tongue down my throat after chatting for less than 1hr.... I opted not to see him again.

I signed up, Did the form looked at my Matches most of them seemed like arseholes so didn't bother paying anything, The way it is laid out makes them sounds like page 3 girls, Debbie 23 from Croydon.
