So basically.. as im sure most of us are aware, my hornet (and many other bikes without an LCD dash display) has no clock to tell me the time.

my watch is usually stuck beneath the layers of jacket and gloves, and i dont want to take my phone out of inner jacket pocket whilst moving.

i had a mini LCD clock which was supposedly waterproof from Bikeit. but it wasnt. i cried for days.. but it started to work again!!! then stopped forever.

So what is the best clock you guys have found you can attach to your bike near the dash display, digital or analogue, that is waterproof enough to stay on the bike all the time, and actually looks decent?

thanks!!

Dave

Get the cheapest little g-shock going, wrap it round your bars tight and glue the clasp. Problem solved Smile

I had the exact same "waterproof" clock from Bikeit that fails after it gets wet and starts working again once it gets dried out.

I used velcro (it came with the bikeit but I suppose you could DIY your own) to stick a regular digital watch onto my clocks, minus strap. You can just about see it this photo.

I had a 9 year old Casio stuck there for a year before the backlight stopped working from old age, so I replaced it with a new £10 Casio from argos. Job done Thumbs Up

Freaky, I have the same bike and from what I can see exactly the same watch that I don't use anymore... I need to do the same as you immediately. I've always been annoyed at the lack of clock.

I have this watch from argos. It was about 8.99 at the time (on offer).

Made a little bracket up with tin snips and piece of sheet metal. Drilled a hole in the bracket for the brake fluid reservoir bolt to go through.... and bobs your uncle.

I've had the watch on for over a year now, and I've got the same watch on my other bike which has been on there for 2 years. I use my bike in rain, sun, hail, sleet, ice, snow, fog etc etc and no problems. The backlight's brilliant. You just hold the top left button while riding... if you can't quite see the time just bend the bracket a little (it's only thin). The watch is stuck to the bracket with car bumper tape (super strong), but you could choose to use glue.

Find a cheap watch off the market or anywhere else. Then get some velcro on the back and fix between the clocks.

I've just - pathetically - been and taken a photos of my makeshift clock... it's the face of a casio watch, velcro'd onto a bit of foam next to the clocks... i thought it was quite smart, all my mates take the piss!

Question Idea Question

The Hornet does have a built in clock.
I have an 05 model with analogue clocks.
2 small rubber buttons, one toggles between ODO, trip 1 and trip 2
the one on the other side toggles between clock and ODO/trip 1/trip 2

Unless the first ones didnt have a clock. Smile

Not the best pic, but the only one i have of the clocks
Button to the left of the indicator light = clock button
one on the opposite side (not in pic) is for trip 1 trip 2 and ODO

The positioning of the sun.

I've never needed to tell the time whilst on my bike. I leave for work at the usual time, I usually arrive with 10-15 minutes to spare.

On the run home, it doesn't matter how late I am - regular overtime cancels the need I guess.

Come to think of it, I don't think I've worn a watch for over ten years or so. Confused

How about a keyring clock?

https://www.chinatraderonline.com/Files/Gifts-and-Crafts/Keychain/Keychain-Clock/Wheel-shape-watch-key-ring-21405168925.jpg

Sure there's better ones, well there is, I was just looking for a soft/rubbery one so not to scratch yer yoke or rattle about.

Another vote for the cheap casio digital.

After the bomb is dropped, cockroaches will be driving round on Honda C90s and in Toyota Hiluxes wearing casio digital watches.

And there's always the Little Ben, fairly expensive but designed with bikes in mind.
