Well I managed to knock my dads bike off the stand, very little damage really but what there is is a crack in the engine casing.
Can this be repaired or is it a case of getting a new one.
It's a GSX750F and i wondered if the GSX ones will fit it?

Yes, it needs to be replaced because these parts are casted metal and you can't patch them as the stresses on the engine will open the crack again. Were you actually sitting on it and caused it to fall ? Cool

You either need to get that part replaced from a breaker but it's best to get a new one.

What do you mean by casing - what part of the engine area are we talking about and do you happen to have a pic of it so that we can advise you of how big a cost it's possibly going to be ?

No I wasn't sitting on it.

This bit:
https://i18.ebayimg.com/02/i/03/67/74/e3_1_b.JPG

Its got a crack in at the bottom. One off a 600cc one wont be the same as a 750cc one will it?

Hi

Think they are around £65 (just from a comment on an Ebay listing).

Suspect the 600 and 750 ones are the same, but might well be a different colour.

All the best

Keith

Although to be honest, you've done the right thing fixing it for him thus far, so I'd personally just tell him. This is of course based on my Dad though, I have no idea what yours may be like Very Happy
(Oh, and the fact that I'm 30 so there's not that much he could do to me anyway Wink)

What if you find the reason he hasn't ridden it hardly is because he has a cracked engine casing from it falling over! Razz Laughing

Righty heres an update:

Fairings arrived today, I managed to peel off the GSXF badge and stick it onto my dads fairing so now I have 1 Mint fairing to sell, 1 mint one on the bike and one damaged one to sell Mr. Green Thumbs Up

The best bit is, he signed for his own fairings and didnt even know it Laughing Thumbs Up I'm glad it was well packaged and didn't say what it was on it. Shifty

A lesson has been learnt from all this......... don't drop your dad's bike! Razz

And if you do don't tell him, ebay is your friend. Laughing
