I do.

Getting Cagiva parts is starting to do my nut. Ok, some parts you can get, but most of the time they dont answer the phone. If they do, youve got a 20% chance of talking to someone who knows the bike. By then, youve got a 50% chance of that person knowing if the part is in stock or how much it is.

Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Spent 45 min on the phone today, redialing ever couple of seconds. Engaged, engaged, engaged, ring ring ring etc hang up. engaged.

Ordered decals last summer. Got told they were in stock. A year down the line, no decals.

Ordered fork seals at easter. Got told they were in stock, 1 week later got told they were being shipped in the next day. THEY TOLD ME THAT EVERY WEEK FOR TWO AND A HALF MONTHS.

Be warned, buying a cagiva envolves you being a psychic. You have to see into the future, then order the parts a month or two before you need, them.

GRRR

I know your pain Evil or Very Mad

My bike's insurance ran out recently, and I missed out on the last month of riding it because I was waiting for a throttle cable from three cross. How mcuh is a throttle cable by the way? that little bit of wire, plastic and metal? £30. Bastards.

When I was first looking to buy a sports 125, I wanted a mito - I must admit they look nice, nicer than my NSR, and quicker too.... but when everyone started warning me about the sort of thing you are saying I got a bit worried! One guy told me he was without his bike for about 4 months, cause the place in Italy where the part was coming from shut during the summer or autum or something? And that they stopped manufacturing the mito??
Shame, cause I would have liked a little mito Very Happy

*manic laughter* aha-aha-aha Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

I am soooo glad there are people here going through exactly the same as me.

Always engaged! You can ring for hours and never get through. To be fair I always speak to the same guy and he is quite helpful and apologetic. Rolling Eyes

I blame Cagiva rather than 3X. Do these Italians not realise that no-body will want to buy their bikes if you can't get parts for them? Mad

I am waiting for wheel bearings (been waiting at least two months for them, probably more), and also a new clutch cable (waiting at least two weeks), and a new left grip.

I stop riding my Planet on Friday and I want to sell it asap but I can't sell it without replacing the wheel bearings. Evil or Very Mad

On the other hand when my bike got knocked over the other day I got my new clutch lever and gear changer the next day!
Very Happy

We order it locally and they order from three cross - cuts out us having to talk to three cross and they seem to get a better service than we do!

Perhaps is because they are businesses but the wait is significantly less.

Jubilee clip for can on V Raptor from 3 cross - over a year now
Master cylinder from local stockist - 4 days.

Wheel bearings - get them from M&P and cancel your order.

Ive got through, and yes Andy apologised and sorted out most of my order.

Its summer again, so the italian peeps are on holiday. No more cagiva parts are going to leave the factory untill sept??!?!

That includes my piston and small end.....

I used to go through my local dealer. Ok, it was easier pointing at things on the microfinche. Problem was the price.

Piston-3x £119, dealer £140
Small end bearing - 3x £7, dealer £15

The list goes on. Anything between a 20% and %100 mark up on the retail prices i was quoted. RETAIL, not TRADE!

The good news is andy gave me the number of someone who has left 3x and started up a business covering the 125cc cagivas (afaik)

its "mito moto" or something on 01425650034. haven't rung them yet, so im not 100% sure on the number.

The only good thing about cagiva is that being european, they share a huge amount of parts with other manufactures. Its just knowing where you can source it.

Hi

Most of Europe closes down for August, including most of the Italian factories. Not a problem if the local distributors keep a reasonable amount in stock, but the UK ones don't bother.

We picked a bike up new in Milan in 1991. The dealer we got it from was only small yet the shelves were stacked with new spare bodywork for bikes

All the best

Keith

actually inside news says it not actually cagiva/mv that are having the problem, its three cross that are creating an even bigger one.

cagiva have still got a problem with parts but they are still producing parts as normal but three crosses problem is that they have to pay cagiva before they can any parts or new bikes! but three cross are being stubborn and don't want to pay before just incase the batch of parts/bikes ordered doesn't arrive and cagiva have their money!

this has been proved as we needed a parts for the mv agusta, ordered from three cross and they said "you better sit back, you got a long wait" we waited a couple of weeks, and nothing, gave three cross a call again and they said "cagiva/mv are out of stock and it'll be a few months" so we faxed cagiva/mv asking for the part and why the long delay, and they replied that they'll post the part (as they had it in stock) to three cross immediately and three cross will post it to us. so in this case three cross were to blame, even when we called up to find out if they had any f4s in stock, they said they only get them in to order and full payment before, thats ridiculous, cause you can go to the smallest dealer and they would have brand new f4s in stock!

so maybe its worth faxing cagiva a request for your parts and tell them you've been treated badly and have been waiting a fair amount of time?? Rolling Eyes

my two cent anyway Smile

I asked the mitomondo guy why he could get parts that took 3X weeks and he said "because I make an effort, and parlo intaliano (sp?)". If his entire niche is Cagiva parts I wouldn't bother trying anywhere else to be honest.

Not my problem for much longer though. Wink

Hi

One thing with 3X is that if you order some parts which do not arrive in a year then they just assume you don't want them and cancel the order without telling you

All the best
