well, i've joined the proud ranks of those BCF'ers who post from their hospital beds!

At about 1530 yesterday, iwas on the way home from the gym after work, making a nice legal 50 down the a4 bath road. as i sat in the right hand lane, a woman driving a green alfa romeo shot into the left hand lane, perpindicular to the traffic. she stopped, i started to brake, but then she carried on into my lane without looking! totallyblocked my lane and overhung it, so no wa around.

i was doing at least 30 when i hit her where the windshield joins the bonnet, with my back wheel swinging out. Flew over the bonnet, clipped something, spun through the air and hit the road hard, landing on my left side.

As i flw through the air, I had a moment of clarity, and KNEW i was going to die. Imagine my surprise (and mild annoyance) when i found myself lying on cold tarmac in horrific pain. Being dead would probably hurt less!

The Babylon were there in two mins, the ambulance in five. I took my own helmet off because no-one else would, and i was terrified of passing out.

Cue several hours of pain in A and E, the most painful moment being when the doc yanked my ball sack back and pulled something. I retaliated by vomiting on her intern! He then had the joyful task of sticking his finger up my arse, never seen a guy so nervous, or felt so humiliated myself!

Shit as I feel, I'm very lucky to be alive, my only serious injury as a shattered pelvis. They reckon it's preety bad from the x rays, waiting fo the scans to confirm.

The worst thing of all is that the girl i'd like to have rushing to my side and realising she's in love with me, is in New York!

Irony of the whole thing is, it was a bloody immigrant in the car. She didn't look for oncoming traffic once, fixated on finding a gap on the other side.

Mister James is not happy. I cant move, barely piss, and I'm dreading needing a dump, any hip movement is agonising.

Arse.

Sorry to hear about your off Mister James Thumbs Down Bloody car drivers always seemed more concerned with making their journey quicker and don't realise how vulnerable we are on bikes when they're not paying attention.

Hope you get well soon and don't have any lasting injuries Thumbs Up

It's a bitch in their man- the most painful bits are yet to come:

Putting yourslef through agony trying to force yourself to pretend you're fitter than you are so they let you leave hospital.

Also- the £10 000 out of pocket i/you was/maybe to replace the stuff you've lost.

Get well soon! Cool

Thumbs Up

What a lovely post - I am glad to see that despite everything you seem in relatively high spirits. Although I'm not sure if there wasn't a little too much detail Sick Laughing

Thumbs Up Best of luck fixing yourself, and as has been said good luck with insurance.

Take care!

With minimal effort, so a lot of rest you should heal up good.
Yeah the taking a dump thing is going to be pretty bad mate, a friend of mine had the same thing happen.
I know you’ll get through that though, you’re a tough cookie.

Sounded like you were very lucky, it wasn’t your time.

Fecking immergrant.

Thanks guys. Looks like she was insured, the police passed her details on to my mum. Coppers said they reckon the bike is a writeoff, im TPFT so i'll hopefully be claiming off her.

Not even begun to think of implications at work.

James Gilligan

You know that wont happen though. The bloke who knocked me off was on the wrong side of the road and got arrested for dangerous driving, yet when I asked the old bill what was likely to happen to him I was told "He might get a fine and maybe some points".
